- Make sure you are a registered Member of the Senior Center if you are taking part in any activities. This includes using our Hairdresser, Massage Therapy, transportation, all classes and programs.
- If you are registered, please update your information (address, phone number, emergency contact, etc.) with your Membership renewal or as it changes throughout the year.
- Obtain a SCAN CARD, if you don’t already have one. PLEASE USE IT. If you are unsure how to use it, see a staff member and we will gladly show you. The statistics are very vital to maintain what we offer by showing usage of our classes, programs and services.
A Message from Mike: Once again it is Membership Renewal time!

Norwich Residents: Suggested $25.00 per year Out-of-Town Membership: $40.00 per year
I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone to make sure they do the following:
Thank you and have a great summer!
GIFT SHOP—Open to the public, it is located in the Senior Center lobby. We offer a variety of gifts and cards for very reasonable prices.
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Services will be mailing out new Medicare cards to all current Medicare beneficiaries. The roll out for Connecticut residents will begin in June 2018. CMS hopes to have all new Medicare cards mailed out to beneficiaries by April 2019. The card will have a new claim number (will no longer be social security numbers) and will look slightly different. Once you receive your new card, you can begin using it immediately for
your medical services. All cards will be mailed to the address that Social Security has on file. If your address has changed, please contact Social Security Administration to update.
* SCAM ALERT*
With the roll out of new Medicare cards, scammers are up to their old tricks. Phone calls are being made to Medicare beneficiaries stating that in order for new cards to be received, personal information is needed (ie: social security numbers, identity information, etc.). Please be aware that neither Medicare nor CMS are making any calls to Medicare beneficiaries in order to process new cards.
BENEFITS COUNSELING—With Natalie will be available on Thursdays to all seniors 60 years old or over. Please call 860-889-5960 for an appointment. This program is supported by Sr. Resources Agency on Aging with Title III funds made available under the Older Americans Act.
Let’s join together, open our hearts, and help those in need this holiday season. The Rose City Senior Center will be collecting items to donate to the St. Vincent de Paul Place in Norwich. St. Vincent de Paul Place is a community meal site and food pantry that strives to meet the needs of individuals and families who are struggling financially in the Norwich area. Let’s help them out!
Items that are needed: soup, canned vegetables, pasta sauce, pasta, canned fruit, tuna, jelly, peanut butter, beans, coffee, sugar, oatmeal, soap, deodorant, razors, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving cream, winter hats, winter gloves, socks, toilet paper, paper towels, dog food and cat food. Monetary donations and gift cards to Stop & Shop, ShopRite, Big Y, Walmart and Target are also appreciated.
*Please be sure all items are canned or in plastic containers. NO fresh, refrigerated or frozen items. Also, items must be new, in unopened containers and not expired.*
If you would like to make a donation, please drop items off at Reception no later than
Friday, December 14th so we can get the items to St. Vincent de Paul Place!
Thank you for your kindness!
