Foot Care Program

Come and get the Foot Care you need. Our On-A-Good-Foot Program can help. Foot care not covered by Medicare will be paid by a grant received from Senior Resources with Title III funds made available under the Older Americans Act. A suggested donation of $10.00 is appreciated and helpful, not required. Dr. Thomas Walter, Podiatrist comes to our Center once a month to perform routine foot care. Call for an appointment and/or details 860-848-0422.

Better Health Program

Available 4 days a week—call and come down to meet Michelle. Our new clinician for our mental health one-on-one services and group therapy! The Montville Senior & Social services is offering a FREE Mental Health Services at both the Montville Senior Center and Montville Social Servicers. Many people find the holidays difficult, or suffer from depression, have anxiety, addictions or just need someone to talk to. Mental Health is a very important part of health care. Don’t neglect your mind while taking care of your body! This program at the Center is made possible with a grant received from Senior Resources with Title III funds made available under the Older Americans Act. Call for details and/or an appointment! A suggested donation of $1.00 per visit is appreciated!

New Homemaker Program

The Montville Senior Center Homemaker Program is offering a FREE in-home services to our seniors in the Town of Montville. This program is made possible with a grant received from Senior Resources with Title III funds made available under the Older Americans Act. Seniors get an initial overall cleaning and then continued maintenance cleaning. Seniors who are physically or financially unable to afford this service would likely qualify.

All of our Equipment is in! Our Computer Lab will be up and running ASAP and we will be offering computer classes, at all levels, very soon!

Our new computer and program is being installed as I write and the “official” start of monthly mail-outs will be starting soon. We will also be sending weekly and special event emails to keep everyone up on all we have going on at the Senior Center!

March Services

 

VNASC NURSE MANAGED FOOT CLINIC

Thu, Mar 14th from 12:15pm to 3:45pm. Routine foot care provided for a fee – $10pp. Appointment required. No diabetics please. Payment due at time of service.

 

REFLEXOLOGY
The massage will be about 20 minutes which includes a foot soak by a Massage Therapist. $22pp upon registration. Thu, Mar 7th. Appointments start at 12:30pm.

 

MANICURE – Sponsored by Pretty Nails and Spa,
Tue, Mar 12th & Mar 26th. Starts at 8:15am. 15 minute appointments $5pp – Cut, file, shape, and polish.

 

HAIRCUTS
Haircuts by appointment offered on Thu, Mar 28th. 9:30AM – 1PM, Every 20 minutes. Cost is $15 per person

 

MASSAGE THERAPY
Massages (with clothes on) to be offered. You can reserve a 25 minute appointment for $33 or a 50 minute appointment for $66. Wed, Mar 13th & 27th from 12:30pm to 3:30pm and Thu, Mar 21st, 10am – 1pm. Register with the Senior Center. 48 hours – cancellation. Wear comfortable clothing. Payment is due at time of reservation.

Monthly Blood Pressure Screenings by UNCAS Health

The 2nd Monday of each month from 12:45-1:45pm

Beginning on March 11th 

 

Nurses from Uncas Health District will be available at the Preston Senior Center to take blood pressures and answer health question which you may have. There is no charge to this important service and all are welcome to participate.
No appointments are necessary and it is a first come, first serve basis.

March TVCCA Cafe Menu

We will be offering a “Special Meal” on Monday, March 18th to our
participants. It will be the St. Patrick’s Day Celebration meal which will include
Corned Beef & Cabbage, Steamed Potatoes, Sliced Carrots, Dinner Roll &
Margarine, Irish Soda Bread, Apple Juice, and beverage. There is a suggested
donation for this meal only of $4.50. To register for the meal, please make your
selection by Monday, March 11th

The entire calendar of March includes the following menu selections:

March 4th: Stuffed Chicken Kiev, Rice Pilaf, Green Beans, Fresh Oranges, Bread, Margarine and beverage.
March 11th: Meatballs Marinara, Pasta Shells w/Herbs, Peas, Mandarin Oranges, Bread, Margarine and beverage.
March 18th: Corned Beef & Cabbage menu as previously stated with the
suggested donation of $4.50 per person 60 years of age and older.
March 25th: Beef Stew, Steamed Parsley Potatoes, Broccoli, Birthday Treat, Orange Juice, Bread, Margarine and beverage.

 

The suggested donation for the meal program is $3.00 per person who is 60
years of age or older with the exception of a “Special Meal” which has an increase
