All hikes are approximately three to four miles long, and will begin at 9:30 A.M.

Hikers who wish to carpool should meet at East Lyme Senior Center at 9:00 A.M.

Distances, locations and leaders are subject to change, if necessary.

All hikers must register for each hike by calling the East Lyme Senior Center – 860-739-5859.

Hikers are to bring water and sturdy shoes; and lunch, insect repellant and sunscreen if desired.

Experience the Highlights of the High Line, New York’s elevated park experience. Let a local expert reveal all the highlights of this one-of-a-kind urban space with iconic views across Manhattan. Later, discover The Edge, the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere with a one of a kind design. Lunch will be on your own at Hudson Yards. A lot of walking.

Manicure: Sponsored by Pretty Nails and Spa, Tue, May 9th & 23rd. Starts at 8:15am. 15 minute appointments $5pp – Cut, file, shape, and polish. Register with the Senior Center

 

VNASC Nurse Managed Foot Clinic: Thu, May 11th from 12:15pm to 3:45pm. Routine foot care provided for a fee – $10pp. Appointment required. No diabetics please. Payment due at time of service

 

Haircuts: NEW – Haircuts by appointment offered on Thu, May 25th.
9:30AM – 1PM,
Every 20 minutes. Cost is $15 per person (Tips are appreciated) Register with the Senior Center.

 

Massage Therapy: Massages (with clothes on) to be offered on Wed, May 10th & 24th from 1pm to 4pm. You can reserve a 25 minute appointment for $30 or a 50 minute appointment for $60. And Thu, May 18th, 9am – 12pm. Register with the Senior Center. Payment is due at time of reservation. Wear comfortable clothing

“Thoughtful Tuesday” Monthly Mindfulness Coaching

Would you like to experience more peace and calm, even when everything around you seems chaotic and busy? Would you like to feel rested and enjoy better sleep? Would you like to experience more joy? Join Wellness Coach and Pharmacist Lisa Bragaw from Zen & Now Wellness Center once a month. At each session, Lisa will introduce breathing techniques and some very easy to implement mindfulness tools and strategies you can use anytime to bring more ease into your life. This group will meet the 2nd Tue of each month. Please register with the Senior Center for each month.

$10pp each month. Registration begins May 1st. Register by May 8th.

CPR Training

Monday, May 8th from 1:00-3:00pm

 

American heart association, heart saver, CPR/AED and choking. Heart attack and stroke will also be covered during this class. Certification is good for
two years. Cost is $60pp

Paper Flower House Sign Class

Monday, May 8th from 10:00am-12:00pm

 

Nancy Souza, Card Maker, Mixed Media Artist and Altenew Certified Educator will help us transform a plain house door sign into a uniquely decorated welcome sign. We will create this one of a kind door hanging welcome sign using a variety of layered paper flowers, leaves, paint, border accents and a layered welcome die cut hello. You will receive a supply kit that includes the materials you will need to complete the project. Please bring scissors and liquid glue for your personal use.
