SNAP FOOD PROGRAM:         You may be eligible for extra help with the cost of groceries. Call the Senior Center for Information and/or to make an  appointment to apply.

DIAL A RIDE TRANSPORATION IS AVAILABLE THROUGH THE GRISWOLD SENIOR CENTER

 

Dial-a-Ride Transportation for Individuals who are Seniors or for those who have Disabilities Dial-a-Ride services are available for the Town of Griswold/Jewett City residents for medical trips, 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  There is SMALL FEE and no money exchanged between the driver and the rider. Anyone interested in utilizing the service must first register with the Griswold Senior Center by calling 860-376-2604

    Now more than ever community support is so important and impactful! The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) offers the support someone needs to remain living at home either with grocery shopping needs, visiting or phone reassurance. If you are 55+ contact us to hear how your help may improve the quality of life of an elderly or disabled person by volunteering around your schedule to help a neighbor in your community.

    ALL DOCUMENTATION MUST BE SUBMITTED BY TO US BY SEPTEMBER 28TH


    RENTAL REBATE PROGRAM

    REQUIREMENTS ARE YOU MUST BE 65 YEAR OF AGE OR 100% SOCIAL SECURITY DISABLED.

    Income cannot exceed$36,000 for single and$43,900 for married

    ALL PAPERWORK NEEDS TO BE FOR THE YEAR 2020

    INCOME for 2020                                                                        EXPENSES FOR 2020

    1. SSA-1099 (Social Security) or A TPQY                                 1. Rent receipts for 2020

          if you are Social Security disabled                                             2. Electricity bills for the whole  year of 2020
