Start with a delicious, all you can eat, buffet lunch featuring a large selection with all foods freshly prepared onsite.  After lunch, enjoy the hilarious performance of Run For Your Wife.  Following the show, return to your seat in the dining room for dessert, drinks and a fun-filled Cabaret Show!

A taxi driver gets away with having two wives in different areas because of his irregular work schedule.  Complication is piled upon complication as the cabby tries to juggle both wives and keep his double life from exploding.  It doesn’t quite work and that means lots of laughs for us!

COST: $94 per person includes charter coach bus transportation, fabulous buffet lunch, matinee performance of “Run For Your Wife”, and Cabaret Show.  Driver tip is not included.

Dementia & Caregiving Series

Mondays in April from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

 

Join us for this free 4-week series presented by Kristine Johnson, Dementia Specialist from Hartford Healthcare Center for Healthy Aging.  Are you caring for someone with dementia?  Do you want to learn more about the progression of the disease and helpful communication tips?  Would you like to be able to recognize common behaviors and know how to respond?

April  3rd – Overview of Dementia

April 10th – Basics of Communication and Understanding Behaviors

April 17th – Safety and How to Structure Daily Activities

April  24th – Taking Care of the Caregiver and Care Options

Participants are encouraged to attend all 4 sessions but it is not required.  A question and answer period will be included each week.  Community Recourses available to you will be discussed.

Trip: Wright’s Farm Restaurant & Wright’s Bakery

Bus leaves Senior Center at 10:15am and returns approximately 4:00pm. 

 

Enjoy a delicious, all you can eat, family-style chicken luncheon at Wright’s Farm Restaurant located in Harrisville, RI.  Your meal consists of dinner rolls with butter, fresh green salad with Wright’s Farm Classic Italian dressing, pasta with red sauce, Wright’s amazing French fries and of course Wright’s famous, tender roast chicken.  Included with your meal will be coffee or tea and ice cream for dessert!

Following lunch, a short ride brings you to Wright’s Dairy Farm & Bakery.  Wright’s Bakery specializes in a number of baked goods, including dessert cakes, cupcakes, cream pastries, flaky pastries, pies, bars, sweet rolls and buns, plenty of assorted cookies and much more!

This trip is open to Senior Center Members ONLY.  You may register yourself plus one additional member when you call in to sign up.  You must be an up-to-date member.

Drop off your items that need to be sharpened to the reception desk by Thursday, April 13th.

Be sure to have your items wrapped in newspaper and safely stored in a plastic bag, with your name, phone number and correct payment included.

Michelle Bourdeau, Educational Foundation Director of the Better Business Bureau® Foundation of CT, will be here to discuss steps you can take to protect yourself from scams and fraud that tend to target older adults.  Unfortunately, we live in a world where deceptive measures through scams and fraud are so prevalent, it is necessary to be armed with information, tips and pointers.  Be prepared and don’t become a victim!

Lunch & Learn with Ed Prendergast

Ed will be here with Janney Montgomery Scott to discuss current interest rates, including FDIC insured deposits, CD’s, money market and US treasuries. The talk will include how inflation impacts savings and spending. There will be an opportunity for individuals to ask questions.
