This annual community event takes place at Thrive55+ powered by the
Groton Senior Center and Groton Public Library parking lot. An all
ages community event. Groton’s Holiday Kickoff is an event that
incorporates many holiday celebrations; Christmas, Hanukkah,
Kwanzaa, as well as other holiday traditions.
There will be displays of all the holiday celebrations, youth activities,
entertainment – bell choir, carolers, dancers, hayrides and food trucks
and special guests! This event is for everyone! Please join us!

MedRIDE II ~ COVID SAFETY MEASURES IN PLACE
Free Regional Transportation Program Montville & Norwich Seniors
If you are in need of medical transportation, call the new MedRIDE II program. WE can help. The
town of Montville and City of Norwich have joined together and received a grant to help transport
seniors to medically necessary appointments. Do you need to go to Yale, New Haven, Hartford
Hospital or Farmington to a specialist? Let us take you! Call 860–889–5960 for your appointment.
Chair Yoga- Friday at 10:15-11:15am
New session starts on Jan 6th and ends Mar 24th. In person instruction on Fri at 10:15am.
12 classes. Class fee $30R and $33NR.
Chair Yoga enables participants to enjoy the benefits of Yoga without having to get down or back up from the floor. This class will help participants maintain their fitness, recover after injuries or surgery while bringing calmness to the mind and a lifting of spirits. It will also help to improve brain function and co-ordination. A chair is used for the class. Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes.
Hand & Foot Card Game -Mondays at 12:30pm
New session starts on Jan 9th and ends on Mar 27th (no play 1/16 & 2/20). You must register your interest to play.
GUITAR JAM- Mondays from 2:00-4:00pm
New session starts Jan 9th ends Mar 27th (no class 1/16 & 2/20). Any person who can play an instrument is welcome. Must register your interest to participate for the session.
GUITAR & UKULELE LESSONS – ALL LEVELS – Monday from 1:00-2:00pm
In person instructor led lessons for beginners but all levels are welcome on Mon at 1pm. You will need to purchase a ukulele and a tuner. Guitar loaner available. 9 classes. Class fee $45R & $50NR.
QUILTING- First Monday, Third Friday and Last Tuesday of the Month
New session starts on Jan 9th ends on Mar 28th.
Quilting is held at the following times:
1st Monday of the month at 1:00pm
3rd Friday of the month at 4:30pm
Last Tuesday of the month at 4:30pm
$2pp drop in fee on Fri and Tue – No drop in fee on Mon
