Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic

Monday, October 17th from 1:00-3:00pm

 

Ledge Light Health District will host a Covid-19 vaccine
clinic at the East Lyme Senior Center.

This clinic is for individuals 18 years or older who need a 1st or 2nd dose (primary series) or a bivalent booster dose. The updated booster from Moderna is designed to help protect against multiple COVID-19 variants. Those who are eligible (18+ for Moderna, 12+ for Pfizer) are encouraged to get the bivalent booster as long as it has been two months since your last Covid-19 primary vaccination or booster.

Only the Moderna vaccine will be available at this clinic. The clinic is free; no appointment, insurance, or ID necessary. Please bring your CDC vaccination card if you have one.

An inspiring story of astounding resourcefulness, generosity, and hard work that doesn’t appear in history books. It reminds us what a spectacular difference we can make working together. In feeding one another, we are fed.

Lunch & Learn: Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Neighbors Helping Neighbors! Now more than ever community support is so important and impactful! The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) offers the support someone needs to remain living at home either with grocery shopping needs, visiting, phone reassurance or local medical rides. If you are 55+, contact us to hear how your help may improve the quality of life of an elderly or disabled person by volunteering around your schedule to help a neighbor in your community.

Cost is $2 per person. Registration begins Oct 3rd. Register by Oct 14th

Club 55 Fall Craft Bazaar

Saturday, October 29th from 9:00am-1:00pm

In the community room of Thrive 55+ Active Living Center
 

All crafters are welcome to participate in this annual Autumn event. Tables are available for $15.00 (round) or $20.00 (rectangular). Reservations for tables accepted at our front desk starting Monday, October 3rd.

Club 55 will be offering a traditional Bake Sale in The Cove, including breads, cakes, pies and other treats also!
Proceeds from this event support Club 55 initiatives such as fuel assistance for seniors, high school achievement awards and more for our community

 

Luminaria Walk Event

Saturday, October 22nd from 5:00-7:00pm

 

Please join us as we raise funds for Groton Parks Foundation by enjoying an evening walk on one of our main trails at Copp Family Park (Route 184, Groton) decorated magically with luminary, fairy houses and fairy friends. This is an easy and stroller friendly trail. Under 1 mile. Sensory friendly time is 5:00-6:00 pm.

 

Adults $10/ Children 8 and up $5 / Children under 8 Free.

Chili Cookoff & Bakers Battle

Saturday, October 15th from 5:00-7:00pm

 

We need YOU! Come vote for your favorite chili and delicious treat!

This year your price includes chili samples from local first responder
departments and local restaurants. PLUS samples of bakery treats from
local recreational and professional bakers. $15 per person.

Plus Scarecrow Contest. Please join us as a taster for this annual
fundraiser that raises funds for Thrive55+ Center programs.

Dining Out Program at Mystic Diner

Tuesday, October 18th at 5:00pm

 

The community gives to us; Dining Out is our way of giving back to the community. An evening outing of dining, socializing, and enjoyment!

Each month one special restaurant will be featured. Our van will pick you up or you can meet us there. Each person pays their own tab at the restaurant. Order a full entrée or just appetizers.
