Wondering how Medicare retirement works? There are 4 parts to Medicare: Part A (Hospital), Part B (Medical), Part C (Medicare Advantage Plan, sold by a private company) Part D (Prescription Drug).
Your initial enrollment period for Medicare (all parts) begins three months before the month you turn 65 and lasts until the end of the third month after your birthday month – a total of seven months. If you don’t sign up during the initial window, you can sign up between Jan. 1 and March 31 each year for coverage that begins July 1. Failure to sign up during the initial enrollment period, however, could result in permanently higher premiums – unless you qualify for a special enrollment period.

During COVD19 Our TAKE OUT Hot Meals are available for anyone, Menu below
We are doing TAKE OUT hot meals from our Coastal Cafe for anyone. The hot meals are $5 each- an entree and two sides. These meals are NOT just for seniors.
-Orders must be called in to 860-441-6785 by 10:30 am.
-At this time, we are only providing hot meals (NO soups, sandwiches, salad bar, drinks, etc.)
-Orders must be paid for when the order is placed.
-Orders can be picked up between 11:30 am-12:30 pm.
-A limited number of deliveries for those who do not drive will be done each day.

4/9 Thursday – Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans
4/10 Friday – Closed (Good Friday)

The Lisbon Senior Center is closed to the public (but we are here) effective March 19, 2020 until further notice. We will continue to deliver meals on wheels and will be serving curbside limited daily lunches. Call the Senior Center prior to 11:00 am to reserve a lunch. Senior transportation will be limited to essential medical appointments only.

Shingles vaccine
For those individuals who received the shingles shot on October 16th at the Preston Senior Center, it is now time for you to receive the second shot in the series. Please call the pharmacy first to ensure that they have the vaccine available for you. If you have any questions regarding whether you received the shot or not, I will be happy to answer your questions. 860-887-5581 x 6.

Food Pantry for Seniors
Our new food pantry program, Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), is for persons 60 years of age and
older and has an income limit requirement. The food is delivered to our senior center once per month and you will be notified of the distribution date in advance. We are now enrolling the food pantry participants, so please call Marina to schedule your enrollment appointment (860) 437-6339.
AARP Income Tax Assistance
If you wish to have your taxes done, please call the Senior Center or stop by the reception desk to schedule an appointment. Appointments available mornings and early afternoons on Tuesdays or Thursdays, in March and early April.
This is a free-of-charge service with an AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteer.
