Groton Senior Center 2020 Rescheduled Events,Trips and Programs

The Groton Senior Center is currently closed to the public due to COVD19. In the meantime, our center will be providing limited transportation to medical appointments, shopping & the bank.  Staff is currently here working safely 8:30 am to 4:30 pm weekdays.  860-441-6785

G.S.C. 2020 Events Effected:

  • March 14 Bakers Battle community event postponed TBA
  • March 19 Collette trip presentation on Nashville/Smokey Mtns. postponed to May 7 at 1 pm
  • March 25 Movie Matinee –  MIDWAY-  we will show it instead May 27
  • March 27 AARP Driving Safety course –  no new date yet. Next class is May 29
  • April 1st and 6th  4-5 pm Census – Completion Online Help  cancelled
  • April 2nd  – Bankers Life – Retirement and Medicare – rescheduled for July 7 at 1 pm
  • April 2 Michelle Dempsey talk on Title 19 – is being postponed to June 11th at 5: 30 pm
  • April 16 Imposter Fashion Show being postponed to this summer / TBA
  • April 23 HARLEM day trip postponed to Thursday, July 23rd
  • April 24 – Volunteer Sock Hop  Friday, June 19th

Books for Sale

Check out the books for sale located across from the Reception desk.  New selections are added weekly by the Library volunteers.  Paperbacks and hardcovers available.  Books are used but in great condition.  They sell for 10¢ each or 3 for 25¢.  You can’t beat that deal!  Stop by and check them out!

COMMUNITY SHARE: Groton CT Rotary Club is looking to help anyone who is in need during this trying time.  Are you home-bound and need supplies? Groceries? Just someone to talk to? Read below to learn more about how the Groton Rotary can help you!

Groton Rotary Club has over 100 people who have signed up to help neighbors in need. Now, we need to know what needs there are. If you have a need, whether it’s a need for food to be delivered while you are sequestered at home or just someone to talk to so you know you’re not alone, fill out the form http://bit.ly/rotaryhelp . Senior Center Closed to the Public

Effective 3/17/2020 the Senior Center will be closed to the public. During this time,if you need assistance, we will try to assist you via phone 860-376-2604.

During This Time

The Groton Senior Center is closed indefinitely starting Friday, March 13 at 5 pm.

Our center will be providing limited transportation to medical appointments, shopping and the bank. In addition we will start providing take-out meals on Tuesday, March 17th. Take-out meals must be called in by 10:30 on the desired day. Pick up will be between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Pick up instructions will be given at the time the order is placed. Limited delivery service will be available. Please call 860-441-6785 to place an order or with any questions.
