WE HEARD YOU! Come to the center with your paints, your canvas or work on your ceramics piece during open studio time at the center. The room will be marked off and there are easels available for you if needed. Please be sure to be mindful of other works in progress that are in the room and to clean up after yourself.

BRADLEY PLAYHOUSE – SHREK THE MUSICAL
2 pm show. A benign green ogre and his sidekick Donkey save the land from an evil lord and rescue a lovely princess from a terrible fate. Based on the blockbuster movie. Shrek The Musical is a musical with music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. Show is 2 hours and 10 mins plus a 15 min intermission. A concession stand with popcorn, water, soda, candy, peanuts etc. is available Max of 20 persons. Bring a child and enjoy a memory you both will cherish! We depart at 12:30 pm. $28 per resident includes show and GSC transportation.

We are off to see the CT Sun vs NY Liberty in a matinee (11:30 am) basketball game at the Mohegan Sun Arena with Groton Recreation Summer Campers! Enjoy sitting together and watch the best women’s basketball players in the world! $17 pp
Today in our Groton Senior Center DISCOVER CONNECTIONS program, we honored our retired military members. Stories and memories were shared of their military days and we sang patriotic songs. Check out a couple of our photos on our recently new Instagram page.

The community gives to Groton Senior Center; Dining Out is our way of giving back to the community. Each month a restaurant is featured. Ride the senior van or meet us there. Order a full entrée or just appetizers.
Please join us Tuesdays for a “socially nutritional” evening or Saturdays for some communal nourishment.

We are excited to introduce you to Sarah Stanley. She is the newest member of our Senior
Center Team. She is the Special Needs Coordinator and is assisting with the DISCOVER
CONNECTIONS program.
Sarah is certified in Therapeutic Recreation and brings 30 years of experience working with
people. She especially enjoys teaching arts and crafts. Sarah lives in New London with her
husband and dog. She has three children and particularly enjoys spending time with her
beautiful grandchildren. Please make sure to say hi to Sarah if you see her around.
