Holiday Concert

Join us on Sunday, December 2nd at 2:00pm as the Old Lyme Town Band will be at the Lymes’ Senior Center to perform their Holiday Concert. All our welcome to attend!! Come get into the holiday spirit with us. This is open for all so bring your spouse, kids, and grandkids with you as we all get festive!

The Chronic Pain Self-Management Program is a FREE six-week program that teaches techniques & strategies proven to help those living with constant pain.

Tuesdays, November 13, 20, 27, & Dec. 4, 11, & 18

Time: 1:00pm – 3:30pm

“Living a Healthy Life w Chronic Pain” book is available on loan or can be bought for $25.

Saturday, NOVEMBER 17- BAKERS ARE NEEDED FOR BAZAAR!

Club 55 is recruiting bakers for the BAKE SALE at the annual HARVEST BAZAAR Saturday, November 17th.

It is important that we know you are donating baked goods for the BAKE SALE.  Please rsvp to 860-441-6785.

During his visit, he will be displaying three of his amazing,

award winning Gingerbread Houses.   Light refreshments.

Laurie & Jas from William Raveis will present information on Work Force Units – what they are – what are the qualifications needed to purchase a unit – current market examples – what this may be a good option for an older adult(s) looking to downsize.

Option lunch will follow provided by the Senior Center. Hot dog & hamburger, chips, a pickle, dessert and drinks.
$5 fee for lunch

*Please note you are welcome to attend just the Learn portion of the program but please register to ensure enough seating. Registration begins November 1st.

Flu Season Tips

  • Wash your hands frequently, especially after blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing, being with ill people and especially before you eat
  • Avoid sharing objects
  • Get enough sleep and avoid getting “run down”
  • Reduce stress
  • Use tissues for coughs and sneezes and dispose of them immediately and appropriately
  • Eat right and get regular exercise
  • Avoid crowds and keep your distance from people whom you know are ill
  • If you are sick, avoid contact with the frail, very young and elderly. If you are sick, please stay home.
