Time: 9:00am- 12:00pm (Only)

PLEASE DO NOT bring in any yard sale donations at any other time.

If you have any clean and gently used items that you would like to donate, please bring them to the Senior Center at the above dates and times only.  Items donated to the Senior Center will be sold at the Community Yard Sale with the profits used towards programs and events.

NO large furniture pieces, NO exercise equipment and NO books accepted.  If you have any questions about your donation, please call Hilary before you bring them over (860) 889-5960.

Friday, May 4th- Senior Club Meeting with Speaker: BC/BS Senior Plans

The Senior Club holds their monthly meeting on the first Friday of the month at 10:00am.  (Unless Holiday or special event, in which it will be held the following Friday)  Speakers, Coffee & goodies will be available before and after meeting.

Community Yard Sale Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers who would like to help with the Community Yard Sale. Volunteers will be needed to help with collecting donations, set-up, selling items and clean-up.  If you are interested in helping out in any way, please see Hilary.

 

Wednesdays- Chair Yoga

Time: 12:15pm

Cost: $4 per week or $3 per week paid in advance

All the postures are done either seated, or standing near a chair.  Areas that are worked on include: strengthening and releasing tightness for hips and shoulders; stretching and relieving tension for the back and spine; balance and stability for feet, knees and hips. Maintaining or increasing flexibility, strength and balance is the focus for this class.

Tuesday, July 24th- AARP Driver Safety- Smart Driver Course

Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

The AARP Smart Driver Course is the nation’s first and largest refresher course for drivers age 50 and older.  It has given millions of older drivers the skills and tools they need to drive safely on today’s roads.  In fact, 97% of those who take it change at least one driving behavior.

And the best part?  There are no tests to pass – just useful information to keep you safe on the road!

You may get an insurance discount after taking this course!  Auto insurance companies in most states provide a multi-year discount to course graduates!  Please consult your insurance agent for more information about discounts available to you from taking this class. 

Cost: $15 AARP Members      $20 AARP Non-Members
