Looking for Volunteers

If you are looking for a way to give back, volunteers are needed here for the following things:

Teach a class – Do you have a skill? Share it with others

Senior Ambassadors – Introduce new visitors to the Center

Intergenerational Program – Visit a local elementary school and work with children in the classroom

The Cove Cafe – Help with evening programs and refreshments

Technology Center – Assist others with their devices

Special Events – We are looking for help with events like the Mystic Muddy Mayhem Mud Run on April 29

Important Information about Registration for Classes

Spring 1 Registration dates:
• Residents – February 6, 2017
• Non residents – February 13, 2017
Spring 1 session runs March 6 to April 28

Spring 2 Registration dates:
• Residents – April 3, 2017
• Non residents – April 10, 2017
Spring 2 session runs May 1 to June 23

Fees – Non-residents pay an additional $10 fee for most classes

No Class Dates – No classes will be held February 26-March 2, unless make-ups are needed due to weather cancellations. No classes will be held April 14.

Registration Deadline – Please register before the first week of classes. Any class not meeting minimum numbers will be cancelled for the session. More information about Groton Senior Center’s programs and services including transportation is available on the newsletter rack in The Cove or online at GrotonRec.com/Seniors or seniorcenterct.org.

SLN provides distant learning opportunities for adults using interactive internet technology. Join us for one or all of the fascinating sessions we have planned! Presentations take place in Classroom 1 on our Smart TV. Topics and times are subject to change, based on presenter’s availability. $2.00 donation per session requested.
