May 6th- CHICAGO at Providence Performing Arts Center, RI

May Day Long Trip – This trip is open to any adult, 18 years old and older.

CHICAGO

Providence Performing Arts Center, RI

Saturday, May 6th

Our first stop is the Providence Place Mall were you will have time on your own to shop and have lunch. Providence Place Mall is home to over 150 stores; something for everyone! Be sure to leave time to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the many restaurants located in the mall, including The Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Changs. After shopping and dining, we head over to the Providence Performing Arts Center for our 2 p.m. matinee performance of the award winning musical CHICAGO!

Set in the legendary city during the roaring “jazz hot” 20’s, CHICAGO tells the story of two rival vaudevillian murderesses locked up in Cook County Jail. Nightclub star Velma is serving time for killing her husband and sister after finding the two in bed together. Chorus girl Roxie has been tossed in the joint for bumping off the lover she’s been cheating on her husband with. Not one to rest on her laurels, Velma enlists the help of prison matron Mama Morton and slickster lawyer Billy Flynn, who turn Velma’s incarceration into a murder-of-the-week media frenzy, thus preparing the world for a splashy showbiz comeback. But Roxie’s got some of her own tricks up her sleeve…

One of the longest playing shows on Broadway, there’s never been a better time to experience CHICAGO with the traveling Broadway show coming to Providence! This triumphant hit musical is the recipient of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards, a Grammy Award and thousands of standing ovations around the world. If you’re looking for your first Broadway musical or if you are already acquainted with the show and want to experience that sizzle again, CHICAGO always delivers!

Knockout dancing, an edge-of-your-seat story, award winning songs such as “Cell Block Tango”, “All

That Jazz” and “Razzle Dazzle” it’s one showstopper after another.

COST: $69 per person includes CHICAGO orchestra ticket and transportation.(DRIVER TIP IS NOT INCLUDED)
