Thrive55+ Active Living Center (powered by Groton Senior Center) is the premiere location for nutrition, health and technology and recreational classes, special events and trips, transportation, information and referral services for Groton residents 55 years and older. Programs in health, computers/technology, finance, fitness, art, enrichment and more are offered year-round and there are special events constantly throughout the year. Rotary scholar awards of $2,000 will be given to three graduating seniors from
of the Groton high schools. Selection of awardees is based on: Scholastic Achievements, School/Club Leadership Activities, and Community Service to Others, with consideration of Need and Educational Ambitions.

SATURDAY, JUNE 15th- Day Trip to Best of Boston- New England Aquarium and Boston Duck Tour

Start the day at the New England Aquarium! One of the premier visitor attractions in Boston! Stand in awe in front of the Giant Ocean Tank with more than 2,000 aquatic animals. The aquarium has all of your favorites – penguins, sea turtles, seals, sea lions, sharks & more! Time on our own at Quincy Market.   Then, it’s the ride of your life aboard the Duck, an amphibious vehicle that rides on land and becomes a boat in water. Enjoy a narrated tour of Boston by your conDUCKtor who’s sure to keep you laughing… Then it’s splashdown!! Right into the Charles River for a breathtaking waterside view of Boston. Passengers can actually take turns driving the Duck vehicle. Everyone loves riding The Duck!

Spring II Session Starts Monday, May 6th

April showers are almost over and we head into MAY next week! In May, we start our SPRING II session on Monday, May 6th.

Beginning to mild stages of cognitive challenges? -Tuesday and Thursday

Are you or someone you know and love in the beginning to mild stages of cognitive challenges or at risk of social isolation?

If so, please consider joining us fro our new Discover Connections program every  Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 am-1 pm starting May 7th.  Not sure?  Please call Tomi at 860-441-6782

Thursday Hike at Bluff State Park

Our EARTH DAY hike that was postponed is taking place THURSDAY afternoon at 1 pm instead at Bluff Point State Park ! This is a 3.4 mile hike.

May 1st day trip to ENDERS ISLAND lunch and tour

We still have a few openings for our day trip Wednesday, May 1st to ST EDMUND’S RETREAT—ENDERS ISLAND.

Guided walking tour of Enders Island Cold lunch includes: 1/2 a sandwich and soup or a salad. Also, drinks and a dessert. We depart GSC at 10:30 am (GSC bus)
