Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Partners –

The walk-in Winter Warming Center in New London is now open. The Warming Center is now located next to the Emergency Shelter at 325 Huntington Street. Open weekdays and weekends. Check-in is from 6 – 9:30 pm. Check-out is at 6 am. Masks required. A 211 call is NOT required before arrival, and we will do our best to complete a CAN assessment and intake with overnight guests. Continue to refer unsheltered homeless individuals seeking an Emergency Shelter bed to 211 for a referral to the shelter waitlist.

The Daytime Hospitality Center, located at the Emergency Shelter at 325 Huntington Street, continues to be open 8 am – 4:30 pm on weekdays. Masks required. Showers, a landline, Wi-Fi, a photocopier, a mail center, desktop computers, and twice-weekly a Community Health Center clinic are available with assistance from staff and volunteers.

For individuals who are experiencing housing and rent difficulties, urge them to visit the NLHHC Housing Resource Center at 727 Bank Street, open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and Saturday from 9 am to noon. Or call the Housing Resource Center directly at 860-501-9900 to make an appointment.

As always, refer any unsheltered homeless individuals to me at 860-876-6649 (voice and text), and I will respond as quickly as I am able.
