Thrive55+ Active Living Center (powered by Groton Senior Center) is the premiere location for nutrition, health and technology and recreational classes, special events and trips, transportation, information and referral services for Groton residents 55 years and older. Programs in health, computers/technology, finance, fitness, art, enrichment and more are offered year-round and there are special events constantly throughout the year. We are active, social and involved and welcome all not only Groton residents.  Saturday October 8, 2022  2:00 PM until 3:30 PM

A Program presented by Florence Griswold Museum and sponsored by The Groton Public Library Circle of Friends.  Program is geared for Children ages 8 and up and their families.

Registration is Required, Space is limited to one fairy house per family.  Call 860-441- 6750

All Supplies will be included

Participants may choose to display their fairy houses along the Luminary Walk at the Copp Property on October 22nd for the Groton Parks Foundation fundraiser.

Have you eaten lunch in our COASTAL CAFÉ lately?  There is a salad bar, soups, sandwich wraps, sides of fruit and treat plus there is a hot entrée every day with a featured item plus two sides. Next week our Featured entrée items for lunch are:

Luminaria Walk Event – Groton Parks Foundation Fundraiser

Saturday, October 22, 2022    5:00—7:00 pm

Please join us as we raise funds for Groton Parks Foundation by enjoying an evening walk on one of our main trails at Copp Family Park (Route 184, Groton) decorated magically with luminary, fairy houses and fairy friends. This is an easy and stroller friendly trail.

Under 1 mile. Sensory friendly time is 5:00-6:00 pm.

Respectfully, we request no dogs on Luminaria trail during the event

  • Adults $10
  • Children 8 and up $5
  • Children under 8 Free

Sept 9th FRIDAY night is our Annual Judged ART SHOW and Reception 4-6 pm here at THRIVE55+.  This show is only for artists 55 plus so it is special to us!

Day Trip: AGRIA Schooner Morning Sail

Friday, September 9th

 

The Schooner ARGIA is one of the last sailing ships in New England. You’ll discover islands, lighthouses and the beauty of sailing aboard a traditional sailing ship. The ship will sail in cloudy and light drizzle weather conditions; please dress for the weather by wearing an extra layer and bringing a jacket. There is a bathroom on board, however you would need to climb a ladder to access it.

The schooner sails out of downtown Mystic from 9:30 – 11:30 am. We meet at the dock at 9 am. Those needing transportation– we depart Thrive 55+ at 8: 40 am.

Cost is $34 resident/$44 non resident.
