Boston Red Sox vs. Atlanta Braves

Wednesday, June 5th

Enjoy a fabulous afternoon watching the Boston Red Sox play the Atlanta Braves at Historic Fenway Park.  Our seat location is on the third base side in Grandstand section 30.  These seats are located under an overhang (so no sitting in the sun) and have an great view of the action on the field!

Our coach bus will drop us off and pick us up next to Fenway Park.  You will have time on your own for lunch before the gates open.  Game time 1:35p.m.

COST: $105 per person includes charter bus transportation and game ticket*.

*Red Sox tickets will only be distributed via mobile tickets in the ballpark app.  No paper tickets given.

Red Sox Game Cancellation Policy: Refund will only be given if your spot is filled. 

This includes cancellations due to game time change or rescheduled game due to weather.

A great opportunity to visit Boston for some fantastic sightseeing, fun shopping and wonderful restaurants or buy your own Red Sox tickets and ride to Fenway Park with us!

Your drop off and pickup location will be next to Fenway Park.  There are multiple sites to visit within walking distance or take a “T” (Boston Subway) and explore farther.  Please plan your own trip and locations to visit before you arrive.  We will be leaving Boston approx. 5:00 p.m. (after game ends).

COST: $40 per person includes transportation.

 

Bus leaves promptly at 8:45 AM.  Return time approx. 8:00 PM.

Property Rehabilitation Program

Friday, March 15th from 10:00-12:00pm

 

Nallely Chavez, Lead Program Community Liaison from the City of Norwich Community Development Office will be here to answer questions on funding they offer for repair and rehabilitation of properties where low and moderated income people live.  Single family and multi-family structures are included.

Eligible repair & rehabilitation projects include: roof repairs or replacement, energy efficiency improvements for windows, furnaces & insulation, electrical system repairs, lead-based paint abatement and handicapped accessibility improvements.

 

  • Owner Occupant Load Program

Owner/Occupant (non-elderly) : 20-year repayment loan at 0% interest.

Owner/Occupant individuals 62+ : Deferred 0% interest loan due 30 years from the date of the lien, or at the transfer or sale of the property, or if the owner no longer resides in the premises.

 

Games Day!

Wednesday, March 27th from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.

 

Three Rivers Middle College National Honors Society students will be here for an afternoon of fun and games!  Join us to play various card games, board games, Cornhole and more!

Cookies & coffee will be served and Goody Bags will be given out to all participants.

Golden Nuggets

Tuesdays from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

The group will be starting back on Tuesday, March 5th

Golden Nuggets is Rose City Senior Center’s glee club and they are looking for new members. Singers of any level of experience are welcome to join them. Spring is a great time to join this talented group as they will be starting back after their Winter break and preparing for their Spring Concert!

If you are interested in joining Golden Nuggets, you must join by March 19th.

Anyone wishing to join after that date will be accepted on a case by case basis.

Enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee and connect with Nurse Barbara LPN.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about the services Barbara will be offering at Rose City Senior Center and in the community.  She is available to meet with any senior (age 55 and older) who lives in Norwich.

Barbara meets with seniors by appointment and will be at the Senior Center on Mondays & Thursdays.

Generations Family Health Center

Wednesday, February 28th  between 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

A community health worker from Generations Family Health Center will be at the Senior Center to discuss the health care services they offer.  Generations offers access to

Primary Care (Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health) and is currently accepting new patients of all ages.  Generations also offers assistance with insurance applications, a Sliding Fee Scale available, assistance with linkages to financial benefits, and can help you to afford your prescriptions

Drop-in between 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. to discuss your health care needs.  An appointment is not needed.  Generations Family Health Center is located at 330 Washington Street, Norwich.

 

Adventures in Lifelong Learning

Three Rivers Community College

Adventures in Lifelong Learning (ALL) is a unique non-credit program that allows students age 50 and older to participate in classes for a low per-semester fee of just $15.  In addition to one day classes on a variety of topics, the program also offers a film series, and a weekly Writer’s Group.  Field trips to area museums, historic sites, and other attractions are also occasionally offered.

Starting mid-February, the Spring Classes Brochure will be posted on their website with information on registration.  Classes start in March.  The $15 semester fee covers you to participate in as many classes as you wish.  Contact information is below, and be on the lookout for the Spring Brochure in February!

Come out and Play a Musical Instrument!

Do you play a musical instrument?  Do you think you’d enjoy playing different genres of music from over the years, including Country, Oldies, and Show Tunes?

Rose City Senior Center’s Roseland Combo is looking for additional people to join them in entertaining a variety of groups.  Stop by any Tuesday morning

at 10:15 a.m. to meet with the current band members and see what joining the group is all about.

The group meets weekly on Tuesdays for rehearsal and periodically performs at local area senior housings, nursing homes, etc.  Open to Senior Center Members only.
