Lunchtime Holiday Music

Wednesday, December 20th at 11:45am

 

Festive music and songs will be performed by Richard Tarryk during TVCCA lunch. 

If you would like to have lunch on this day, you need to sign up in advance by stopping by the kitchen between 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.  Last day to sign up is Tues. December 12th.  Paperwork is required to be filled out in order to sign up.  Suggested donation for lunch that day is $4.50 for seniors 60 and older.

Seniors Holiday Luncheon

Cost: $14 per person

Please join us for our Seniors Holiday Luncheon!  This fully catered holiday event will feature a delicious, freshly prepared plated meal served to you at your table, delightful musical entertainment by Marcy Conway, door prizes and of course great company and a fun time!

Panko Parmesan Chicken in a Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce with Spinach and Sundried Tomatoes. Garden Salad, Whipped Potatoes, Green Beans, Dinner Rolls & Caramel Apple Crisp

Medicare Open Enrollment

Last day of open enrollment is December 7th

Medicare Part C (Advantage Plans) and Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage).

Medicare health plans and prescription drug plans can make changes each year to things like cost, coverage providers and pharmacies.  During open enrollment, you have the opportunity to review and make changes to your plan.  Schedule an appointment to re-evaluate your current plan.

Deterra Drug Deactivation and Disposal System

Dispose of unwanted medications properly to prevent misuse and to protect the environment.

The Deterra Drug Deactivation and Disposal System is a safe medication disposal pouch that can be used at home.  It is an effective way to destroy unused, unwanted and expired medications with the simple addition of tap water for safe disposal in the trash.

Please ask at Reception if you would like a bag.

 

American Flag Retirement Drop Box

Torn or tattered American Flags can be “retired” in the Flag Retirement Drop Box located on the first floor of Norwich City Hall, 100 BroadwayFlags left in the box will be properly taken out of service.  American Flags should never be thrown in the garbage.

Can’t make it to Norwich City Hall?  Drop off your worn flag at Rose City Senior Center and we will bring it to City Hall for you and place it in the box for proper disposal.

 

Norwich Public Utilities Drop Box

A Norwich Public Utilities Drop Box is located between the front entrance double doors of the Senior Center.  Drop off your NPU bill and payment in the drop box by 11:00 a.m. to be picked up the same day.  Please make sure your bill and payment are in a sealed envelope before you drop it in the box!

Please be aware that the drop box is only accessible during the hours the Senior Center is open.

Please Use Your Scan Card!

Don’t have a Scan Card?  Please stop by Reception to pick one up.

Scanning in is required, not optional.  By scanning your card, we can show the usage of the Senior Center ~ our classes, programs and services.  These statistics are vital for us to maintain what we offer and, hopefully, secure additional funding in the future to increase our programs and services.

Scan In To Win!

Want a chance to win a $25 gift card?  Use your SCAN CARD every time you visit the Senior Center and select all classes, programs and rooms you will be utilizing while you are in the building.  In addition, look for the “Scan Card Reward” balloon icon.  Select it for your chance to win.  The more days you scan in, the better odds you have to win!

St. Vincent de Paul Place Miracle Bag Donations

The Senior Center will be collecting items to donate to St. Vincent de Paul Place this Holiday Season for use to make Miracle Bags.  Miracle Bags are full of hygiene items that will be given out at the Holidays to those in need.  Please donate to this great cause!

Items that are needed: bar soap, body wash, deodorant, razors, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving cream, toilet paper, baby wipes, combs, hair brushes, winter hats, winter gloves, winter scarves, socks, individually wrapped candy (fun size bars) and granola bars.  Monetary donations and gift cards ($10) to McDonalds, Walmart and grocery stores are also appreciated.

*Please be sure all items are new, in unopened containers and not expired.*

If you would like to make a donation, please drop items off at Reception no later than Tuesday, December 12th so we can get them to St. Vincent de Paul Place!

 

O’Tis A Festival

Saturday, November 18th  from  9:00a.m. – 3:00p.m.

at Otis Library  261 Main Street, Norwich

Mark your calendar and kick off the holiday season at Otis Library’s 15th annual O’tis a Festival.  A holiday marketplace of all things creative including over 40 local artisans, raffles, all-day entertainment and of course, Santa!  A great way to support local crafters for your holiday gifts.  Free Admission.

Paul was born and raised in Norwich, but for a time lived in Westerly RI near the beach.
