Trip: Olde Mistick Village

Sign up at Reception (by phone or in person) starting on November 8th

Enjoy time on your own to explore the shops and have lunch at Olde Mistick Village.  Olde Mistick Village is a unique collection of outdoor shops that has become a favorite for local residents as well as for Mystic’s many visitors searching for that “perfect something”.  For lunch (on your own), enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants onsite ~  Mango’s Wood Fired Pizza, Pink Basil, Jealous Monk or Bleu Squid.  (Steak Loft not open for lunch.  Go Fish is currently closed.)

Cost: $2 for transportation (Senior Center bus).  Lunch is on your own.

Bus leaves the Senior Center at 10:00 a.m. and returns approx. 2:45 p.m.

O’tis a Festival

Saturday, November 19th from 9:00am-2:00pm

Otis Library  261 Main Street, Norwich

Mark your calendar and kick off the holiday season at Otis Library’s 14th annual O’tis a Festival!  A holiday marketplace of all things creative including artisans, one-of-kind handcrafted items, live entertainment and, of course, Santa!  A great way to support local crafters for your holiday gifts!

 

Beltone Hearing Aid Clinic

Thursday, November 17th from 9:00-11:00am

 

As a service to the local community, a Hearing Care Practitioner from Beltone will be at the Rose City Senior Center to meet with seniors by appointment.  A trained professional will be available for cleaning and checking all makes and models of hearing aids, along with answering any questions you may have about hearing aids and hearing health.  This is a free service.  Appointment is needed.

Beltone will offer this service every 4 months. The next Hearing Aid Clinic will be held on March 16.

Spine Disorder and Neck Pain Discussion

Thursday, November 10th at 10:30am

 

Presentation by Dr. Peter Wagner, Orthopedic Spine Surgeon, Orthopedic Partners

Join Dr. Wagner as he discusses the causes, evaluation and treatments of common spine conditions.  Learn about common neck and spine problems including lower back pain, sacroiliac pain, cervical and lumbar disc conditions.  Along with various non-operative and operative treatment options available.

Empower yourself to improve your neck or back symptoms by learning about exercises that you can do independently, medication, physical therapy, chiropractic care, injections and surgery.

Holiday Charcuterie Board

Wednesday, December 7th at 1:30pm

 

Make your own Charcuterie Board in this fun class with Chef Roman from Whisk Together Catering!  Chef Roman will demonstrate how to make a Holiday inspired Charcuterie Board while helping you create your own!  Learn tips and tricks to make this holiday season delicious and unforgettable.

Cost: $10  All materials will be supplied.  Limited seats available.

Senior Holiday Luncheon

Tuesday, December 13th at 12:00pm

Cost: $12 per person

Please join us for our Seniors Holiday Luncheon!  This fully catered holiday event will feature a delicious, freshly prepared plated meal served to you at your table, delightful musical entertainment by Clayton Allen, door prizes and of course great company and a fun time!

 

Menu:

Garden Salad, Roasted Turkey with gravy, Vegetable Stuffing, Whipped Potatoes, Honey Glazed Carrots, Cranberry Sauce, Assorted Dinner Rolls & Cheesecake with Cherries.

Senior Center Closed November 8th

On Tuesday, November 8th, the Senior Center is being used as a voting precinct.

The building will be CLOSED for the day except for voting.  ALL Senior Center programs and classes are cancelled for the day.   ALL rooms will be closed.  NO lunch will be served. 

We will still provide transportation to Medical Appointments and Lisbon Walmart Shopping.
