Dining Out Program at Olive Garden

Dining Out is our way of giving back to the community that gives to us. An evening outing of dining, socializing, and enjoyment! Each month one special restaurant will be featured. Our van will pick you up or you can meet us
there. Each person pays their own tab. Order a full entrée or just appetizers. Registration required.

Boston Symphony Orchestra featuring Yo Yo Ma

What’s better than spending some time with music and friends? Experience an inspiring concert at Tanglewood, which is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops for over 75 years. Enjoy a music filled afternoon as Andris Nelsons conduct the Boston Symphony Orchestra, featuring noted American Cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Today they will be playing Julia Adolphe, Makeshift Castle, co-commissioned by the BSO and Gewandhaus orchestra; Cello Concerto No. 1 by Dmitri Shostakovich, and Petrushka by Igor Stravinsky.

Before the show, enjoy a delicious brunch at Shortstop Bar & Grill. The family-run and family-friendly restaurant in Westfield opened its doors to the public in December 2014. Our Brunch choices for today will include Homemade muffins, pastries, fresh cut fruit, mixed green salad, home fries, bacon, french toast, chicken francaise, and stuffed shells with pasta and seasonal veggies, all served buffet-style including coffee, tea, and orange juice.

We have Reserved Rear Shed Seats for 2:30p performance of the Boston Symphony Orchestra- featuring Yo-Yo Ma. Listen to the sounds of the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by guest conductor Andris Nelsons. This
concert features Yo-Yo Ma, famous cellist.

Reserved shed seats for the 2:30p performance. Time prior to show to enjoy the grounds — Please note; there are two prices: Shed $190 resident/Lawn $140 non-res. Trip is rain or shine. Tour Includes: Deluxe Motor coach bus

Register for The Big E Trip

Friday, September 15th

Join us on Opening Day for a day full of fun!  The Big E is the largest fair in New England with lots of food, fun and great entertainment such as – the Avenue of States, musical entertainment, the Marti Gras Parade, agricultural and livestock exhibits, Clydesdales, plus an array of exhibits, rides, shopping, crafts, entertainment and TONS of foods.  Don’t forget to try The Big E Cream Puff or The Big Éclair!

Opening Day is also Military Appreciation Day!  Active Military and Veterans get free admission to the fair with a Veteran or Military ID.  Representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from across New England will be stationed along the Avenue of States to answer questions and provide information on both national and state Veteran resources.  A great day to visit!

COST: $58 per person – Includes charter bus transportation and The Big E admission fee.

$48 Active Military and Veterans – Includes transportation.  Free admission with Military ID.

Griswold Folk Music Society

Do you love folk music or play an instrument?

This is an old fashion musical get together of days long past. Everyone is involved from singing to playing an instrument.  This is the first meeting and will meet every month!  Must be 18 years of age. No electric guitars or amplifiers.

 

Entertainer: Jeff Weiselberg

Entertainer Jeff Wieselberg will be tickling the ivories and singing catchy tunes on Wednesday, June 28th. at 1pm. Jeff Wieselberg, performing solo on piano & vocals, has a vast & varied repertoire of great old songs (mostly 1920s to 1980s), including pop, jazz, country, blues, rock & roll, show tunes, & standards from the Great American Songbook….Everything from Frank Sinatra to Billy Joel, Fats Waller to Fats Domino, the Beatles, Elton John, Motown, Neil Diamond, John Denver, & more….lots of great 50s/60s/70s oldies for listening, dancing, and singing along! This is a performance you won’t want to miss!

Generations Family Health Center

Wednesday, March 22nd from 11:45am-12:45pm

 

A representative from Generations Family Health Center will be at the Senior Center to discuss the health care services they offer. Generations is located at 330 Washington Street, Norwich.

Drop-in between 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. to discuss your health care needs.  An appointment is not needed.
