Neighbors Helping Neighbors!
Now more than ever community support is so important and impactful! The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) others the support someone needs to remain living at home either with grocery shopping needs or phone reassurance. If you are 55+ contact us to hear how your help may improve the quality of life of an elderly or disabled person by volunteering around your schedule to help a neighbor in your community. We are here to engage, enlighten, and inspire each other.

Free Live Well Workshops Now Offered via Telephone
Senior Resources* is now offering three different FREE Live Well telephone workshops for area adults and their caregivers: Chronic Conditions Self-Management, Diabetes Self-Management, and Chronic Pain Self-Management. No other technology than a phone is needed for participants to connect for one hour weekly for six weeks to a trained Live Well Leader who facilitates the sessions. In these weekly interactive calls, the Leader reviews materials and the group explores different self-management tools such as action planning, problem solving, decision making, communication, healthy eating, physical activity, and planning for the future.
Workshop participants receive FREE toolkits, including a Living a Healthy Life book, an instruction booklet, and exercise and relaxation CD’s.
Participants are asked to share their address and phone number to have materials mailed directly to their home. All materials are theirs to keep.
Workshops are limited to six adults. For more information and to register, contact Lori at lrygielski@seniorresourcesec.org. or call 860 887-3561 extension 127.

HOLIDAY BREAKFAST
Week of Giving
Dec. 6-10th
The Lymes’ Senior center is again collecting unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots Program. Due to Covid. Toys for Tots did not collect toys last year. This made their organization extremely low on gifts for our local boys and girls in need. On December 14th, representatives from Toys for Tots will be here to pick up whatever we have collected. We hope to inspire our members to donate an unwrapped toy
during our week of giving (December 6- 10) between the hours of 9am-3pm. Thank you for all of you that have already dropped off a gift and thank you to all those that are planning to!

They will discuss when/why to call 911, how you can help us get to you, what to do before we arrive and how to recognize and help someone potentially having a
stroke, heart attack or a bleeding emergency. Doug and Colleen will give you tips and answer any specific questions you may have about the 911 system.
