Rental Rebate Appointments Available

Free Blood Pressure Screening

Free Blood Pressure Screenings are conducted on the second Tuesday of each month from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at Lincoln Park Housing.  To participate in this free service, visitors are requested to enter the Lincoln Park Housing Community Building, 11 Lincoln Park Road Extension.  For additional information concerning the program, please call 860-887-5581 ext. 6.

MEDICATION TAKE BACK DAY

If you have expired, unused or unwanted medications in your household, here is your opportunity to dispose of them easily and safely. Saturday, April 30th from 10am to 2pm, the East Lyme Police Department will accept your medications for disposal for free and no questions asked.

Reflexology Clinic

Susette Christensen, Certified Reflexologist, will be holding private reflexology sessions on May 9th and 23rd 9:30am- 3:00 pm. The cost is $10.00 for a 15 minute session. 30 minute and 60 minute sessions are available as well. To sign up, please call Susette at (860) 334-9255.

Chair Massages

Massage therapy for the older generation offers many benefits including enhanced blood circulation, improved balance and flexibility, reduction of arthritic pain and back pain, increased joint mobility, improved posture, improved natural energy levels and mental awareness. Chair massage will be offered at the Old Lyme senior center on Tuesday May 3rd & 17th between 12:30-4:00pm. A licensed massage therapist from Bonne Santé Wellness center (located at 4 Huntley Road, Old Lyme) will provide chair massage at the Lymes’ Senior Center. These services are offered to members of the senior center only at a reduced rate $25 for a 30 minute chair massage. Interested parties should call (860)434-1605 ext. 240 ahead of time. For those interested in full body massage, reduced price full hour table massages can be booked directly at Bonne Santé Wellness Center by calling 860-434-7429.

AARP TAX-AIDE PROGRAM

AARP TAX-AIDE PROGRAM

The AARP Tax-Aide program provides free tax counseling and preparation for  middle to low-income taxpayers with special attention to those people aged 60 and over. The Tax Advisors are available for the months of March and April on Monday and Friday mornings at 9am. Appointments must be made by calling the Senior Center and the slots are filling up. Taxpayers are asked to provide their:

  1. Personal Identification and Social Security Number,
  2. Copies of your 2014 Federal and CT tax returns, and
  3. All 2015 income reports that have been received (SSA-1099 forms, all 1099 forms, W-2 forms, Unemployment Compensation Forms), and all other Forms that indicate Federal and/or CT income taxes paid in 2015, and
  4. Any documentation showing original cost of sold assets in 2015.
