Lifelong Learning Lecture: The Assasination of Abraham Lincoln

The assassination of President Abraham Lincoln was a tragic and unexpected event which changed the trajectory of American history and firmly cemented his place as an American hero and icon. His assassin, John Wilkes Booth, was marked as one of our country’s greatest villains and continues to live in infamy. But what about his co-conspirators? Who were they and what became of each one of them? We will take a look at the various plots against Lincoln, as well as explore the lives of the lesser known participants that led to terror, injury, and ultimately the death of one of our country’s most important leaders.
