State Soldiers’, Sailors’, and Marines’ Fund

This fund provides temporary financial assistance to meet, or help meet, the health and maintenance needs of eligible wartime veterans and their dependents who demonstrate a “need.” Available assistance may include shelter (rent/mortgage interest), food, clothing, medical expenses or funeral expenses.

Eligibility requirements:

*A veteran or a veterans dependent must live in CT at the time of application and while receiving assistance

*The veteran must have been honorably discharged from military service

*The veteran must have served a minimum of 90 days during a statutory wartime period unless discharged earlier for a service-connected disability rated by the Veterans Administration.
