Trip: “42nd Street” at the Goodspeed Opera House

Thursday, October 27th

First, enjoy a delicious lunch at Olive Garden (lunch on your own).  Following lunch, a short ride will bring you to the beautiful Goodspeed Opera House for the delightful musical 42nd Street.  Set along the tranquil Connecticut River, the Goodspeed Opera House was built in 1876 by William Goodspeed.  This intimate theater brings you closer to the excitement of live musicals and will delight, inspire and entertain you with their shows!

Set in the 1930’s, 42nd Street tells the story of Peggy Sawyer, a talented young performer with stars in her eyes who gets her big break on Broadway.  Packed with plenty of pizazz, 42nd Street will set your heart pounding with its crowd-pleasing tap dances and a hit parade of songs, including “Lullaby of Broadway,” “We’re In The Money,” “Shuffle Off To Buffalo,” and of course, “42nd Street.”

This trip will be using the Senior Center bus for transportation.

You are responsible to find your own ride to the SC before the trip and home from the SC after.
