Spots are going fast on all our trips and some are already filled up.  We do our best to get you the best seats for the best price with a quality trip!  Check our flyers in the Groton Senior Center Newsletter Discover 55+ or on our Facebook page for added information.

We offer day and extended trips around the US and abroad. Great for singles, couples, families – there’s something for everyone and all ages. Trips are open to the public. Check back often to see new trips added!

    Wednesday, June 20th- Trip to Sail Away on the Schooner ARGIA, Mystic

    Join us as we sail away with outdoor adventure enthusiasts from the Groton and South Windsor Senior Centers!  We have arranged for a private charter just for our Senior Centers!  The Schooner ARGIA is one of the last sailing ships in New England.  You’ll discover islands, lighthouses and the beauty of sailing aboard a  traditional sailing ship.  The ship will sail in cloudy and light drizzle weather conditions; please dress for the weather by wearing an extra layer and bringing a jacket.  There is a bathroom on board, however you would need to climb a ladder to access it.
    The schooner sails out of downtown Mystic from 9:30 – 11:30 . We meet at the dock at 9 am. We have limited spots so reserve your spot soon!   Cost is $26/resident

    Tuesday, June 12th- Dining Out: Groton Town House

    Time: 5:00pm – 7:00pm

    DINING OUT
    The community gives to the Groton Senior Center; Dining Out is our way of giving back to the community.  Each month a Restaurant is Featured.  Ride the senior van or meet us there.  Order a full entrée or just appetizers.  An evening outing of dining, socializing and enjoyment!  Please join us Tuesdays for a “socially nutritional” evening.  Registration is required– please be sure to let us know if you want to ride on our GSC bus.

    Tuesday, May 8th- Day Trip to Newport playhouse The Edwards Twins

    Departure Time: 9:45am

    Return Time: approximately 6:00pm

    Matinee Show at 11:00am

    The World Famous Edward Twins, is the top Twin and Impersonation act in the world. Their vocals and looks will amaze you.  You will think you are seeing and hearing the real superstars right before your eyes.  From Barbara Streisand, Sonny and Cher, Andrea Boccelli, Bette Midler, Johnny Mathis, Perry Como, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder to Neil Diamond all in one show.
    Cost: $65/resident

    Sunday, June 24th- Day Trip to The Boston Pops at Tanglewood- show and lunch

    Departure Time: 10:00am

    We start with lunch in Stockbridge at either the Cork N Hearth or the Red Lion Inn.  A choice of chicken, beef or fish entrée.  Then off to Tanglewood to enjoy the Boston Pops in a very special concert directed by Andy Einhorn with guest soloist Audra McDonald.  Your seats are in the covered part, “The Shed”.
    Cost: $158/resident includes deluxe coach transportation, complete luncheon and show.
