Summer Watercolor

Summer Watercolor on Tuesdays, August 1st, 15th, 22nd, and 29th, 10-12PM will be taught by Jeanette Green; In this 4-session Watercolor class, we will review some of the most important skills in handling watercolor painting. In Session 1 students will run washes, practice blending light to dark with various colors, and experiment with brush control. Session 2 will be all about learning to balance the value in a composition . In session 3, students will practice color mixing with opposites and complimentary hues. In Session 4, Students will create textures and learn unusual painting techniques. Cost for the 4-week session is $40 for members. Limited Seat Capacity; Call (860)434-4127 to register.

Classes Begin Tuesday, August 1st  at 6:30 p.m.

A 7-Week virtual program to help you become tobacco-free!

Get assistance in preparing to quit, quitting, and not returning to tobacco use.  Freedom From Smoking program also helps you re-prioritize other healthy behaviors that support a tobacco-free lifestyle.

Offered by Uncas Health District and open to anyone who lives or works in Southeastern Connecticut.

This program is FREE and includes FREE nicotine replacement therapy.

Counseling Services

The Rose City Senior Center offers counseling services for our Senior Center members.  Counseling for positive mental health and well-being is available with Kerri Redner, LCSW.  Appointments are currently scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  There is no fee for this service.

Ice Cream anyone?  Buttonwood Farm makes over 50 flavors of ice cream at their farm.  Along with the ice cream, the waffle cones and whipped cream are also handmade onsite.  During your visit, have a cup, cone, sundae or shake of their delightful treat as you enjoy the views of sunflower fields and farm cows at their scenic country location.

Cost: $2 for transportation (Senior Center bus).  Ice Cream is on your own.

Most of us plan for important life events, such as weddings, our children’s education and retirement but few of us prepare for the inevitable.  This informative program addresses the importance of making your final arrangements in advance and the steps to take.  The interactive presentation addresses the advantages of pre-arranging a funeral, including the benefits of planning and steps involved in the planning process.  Participants may request a free Personal Planning Guide to help get you started.
