Snow Scene in Acrylic Art Class

3 Classes: January 16th, 23rd, 30th from 1:00-2:30pm

at Rogers Lake Clubhouse; 75 Rogers Lake Trail, Old Lyme

 

Cost: $25 (cash or check made out to Jeanette Green) and supplies (supply list received upon registration)

Acrylics are a beautiful medium to work in. More forgiving than watercolors and
faster drying than oils, they are an ideal tool for producing many different effects.
Learn how to mix and blend colors, keep your colors moist, create textures, glaze,
using palette knives, correcting mistakes and so much more! In this class we will
paint simple winter snow scenes from photos provided. If you have your own photo references, please bring them to class.

Weekly Tech Talk Program

Wednesdays from 9:00-10:00am

Please join us for weekly insights on current tech trends or concerns. A series of 45 minute presentations that will cover the basics of MAC’s, PC’s, Iphones and Android phones as the main topics.

($1 per person suggested donation – pay in Tech Center)

  • Wed, Jan 10 : Intro to Tech Center and Tech Talks
  •  Wed, Jan 17 : Basics of Computers (hardware and architecture)
  • Wed, Jan 24 : Operating Systems (MACS/ Windows) and basic tour of these systems.
  •  Wed, Feb 7 : Basic operating system settings
  • Wed, Feb 14 : Setting up administrative & user accounts and discuss file security for these
  •  Wed, Feb 21 : Operating System security settings and anti-virus software

Cardion Sculpt and Stretch, Strength, & Balance Class Update

Christina’s Cardio Sculpt and Stretch, Strength & Balance classes will begin again starting January 17, 2024. Cost for this class will be reduced as it will reflect a five (5) week session. * $54/64 per person for the 5 weeks.

Zumba Gold Toning

Saturdays from 10:00-11:00am

January 6rh to February 24th

 

Equipment provided- we use 1lb shaking “sticks” to use for muscle work. Working both lower and upper body equally, to amazing music- this is the most fun you can have in a strength class.

Dance Conditioning Class

Tuesdays from 8:00-8:45am

From January 9th to February 27th

 

Conditioning class is designed to increase range of motion, balance, muscle flexibility, and our overall strength. We do a combination of movements inspired by ballet, pilates, African dance, Jazz, and modern dance. The music is inspiring, designed to increase enjoyment of exercise.
