The Rose City Senior Center will be getting custom Cornhole boards! 

Cornhole (Bean Bag Toss) is a game in which players take turns throwing bean bags at a raised platform (board) with a hole in the far end.  A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the board scores 1 point.  Cornhole can be played as singles, doubles or teams.  Play continues until a team or player reaches or exceeds the score of 21.

If you are interested in playing Cornhole, please leave your name and telephone number at reception. Game day(s) and time(s) TBD.  You will be contacted when we receive the Cornhole boards.

 

Bridge- Beginner – Tuesday

Never played the game of bridge. Join us and learn the tactics and skills to score points with your partner.

WALK with EASE- Monday, Wednesday and Friday

This class has been brought to the GSC through the Arthritis Foundation and encourages participants to embrace walking as a means for consistent exercise that everyone can commit to. Workbook and curriculum are included with this class equipping our members with the tools and knowledge they need to become successful walkers.

Zumba Gold Toning- Mondays and Fridays

Fitness Room – Annual Membership

This is a non-monitored room with stationary bikes, treadmills, Airdyne bikes, recumbent bike and Cardioglide. In order to use the room, a physician clearance form is required and appointments with our personal trainer orient the client to the fitness equipment and develop an exercise plan. There is a fee for the orientation with a trainer and then an annual fee due every July 1 or upon completion of training to use the Fitness Room.   The fitness room is open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Monday through Friday.

Cost: $72 resident and $82 non-residents

Rummikub- Thursdays

Time: 1:00pm

Rummikub is a tile-based game combining elements of the card game rummy and mahjong. There are 104 numbered tiles in the game valued 1 to 13. Players start with a set number of tiles and take turns putting down groups (7,7,7) or runs (7,8,9) using at least three tiles per turn with a player drawing a tile if they cannot play.  Players can build on tiles already put down during the round. Scoring is based on tiles used in the game.

Rummikub is scheduled to be played on Thursdays at 1pm, but is not currently meeting.

Let’s head to Webster Lake in Webster, MA and enjoy a lovely riverboat cruise. Lunch is included and will be at the Waterfront Dining Room. Menu choice is needed upon registration. After lunch, enjoy free time to shop at Foppema’s Farm – a 75 acre fruit and vegetable farm located in Northbridge. Trip is $87pp. Registration begins June 3rd. Moderate walking.
