Fitness Center members, join us for a chance to win a free annual membership. How it works:

  • Come work out during the month of January in our fitness center.
  • After each workout, stop at the front desk and you will receive a playing card. Your name & date go on the back of the card. Collect as many playing cards as you can during January.
  • From February 1 to 8th bring in your best poker hand combination from the cards you received. Best hand wins!

In case of a tie, names will be drawn for the winner.

 

Friday, February 8th- Calligraphy

Create a heart shaped greeting card &  envelope in time for Valentine’s Day for family and friends. You can pass on the Love of the season, use basic calligraphy skills & share with your love(s).

Wednesday, January 23th- Meet the Author- Brien Brown

Time starts at 6pm

Local Author and former Bacon Academy teacher, Brien Brown, just co-published his first novel, The Fourth Son, which is historical fiction. Mr. Brown is  a retired teacher in history and geography and uses his extensive knowledge to fill his novel with rich and authentic details about early colonial America.

When the mother disappears into the cold on Christmas Eve, a daughter is forced to return to her hometown to take action. We are off to the opera to see Samson & Dalila.  Samson the hero of the Israelites, wins the hand of a Philistine woman, Semadar .When she is killed during a conflict on her wedding night, however, Samson becomes a hunted man whom the Philistines, including Semadar’s sister, Delilah , want to punish. This becomes complicated, however, when Samson suddenly acquires God given superpowers, and Delilah’s true feelings for Samson surface. 1:00p Performance – Running time 3 hours – Balcony Seating.  Time following the performance to grab a bite to eat before departing for home.
