8 Week Advanced Drawing and Watercolor Class

This class is for students who have taken two or more classes with Sharon Schmeidel or have a good art foundation and permission from the instructor. Students can work in either medium. Playful experimenting will be combined with exercises that will further develop your drawing skills. The instructor will introduce ideas and demos at

the beginning of each class, though students are encouraged to work on their own projects with subject matter that interests them. Individual instruction is given throughout class. Schmeidel who has a BFA in painting from Maryland Institute College of Art will instruct this 8 week class which begins on May 9th and will be held on Mondays from 10:00am-12:00pm. 5:30 pm DINNER: Baked Cornish Hen, Herbed Stuffing, Gravy, Creamed Spinach with Mushrooms, Roll, Lemon Meringue Pie, Coffee, Tea, Crystal Lite.

6:30 TO 7 pm BALLROOM DANCING DEMO
7:00 TO 9 pm As Time Goes By – Community Swing Band

Also, our “PARTY BUS” will be available to transport you to and from home.

Trips with Groton Senior Center

This trip is open to all – not just seniors!
 
We provide the ride. You enjoy the day! Also, this is Day One of the once in a decade WORLD STAMP SHOW 2016 In NYC on Saturday, May 28th.

This once-a-decade event takes place May 28 through June 4 at the Javits Center in New York City. Admission is free to the event. http://www.ny2016.org/
 
The cost is $50 per resident /$60 per nonresident.
 
Trip cost includes coach transportation and driver gratuity. Payment is needed upon registration for this event. We depart Groton Senior Center at 7:30 am with approx return of 9:30 pm

Then we also have our  9/11 Memorial Museum Trip on Saturday, June 25th.
