Thrive55+ Active Living Center (powered by Groton Senior Center) is the premiere location for nutrition, health and technology and recreational classes, special events and trips, transportation, information and referral services for Groton residents 55 years and older. Programs in health, computers/technology, finance, fitness, art, enrichment and more are offered year-round and there are special events constantly throughout the year. We are active, social and involved and welcome all not only Groton residents. Sign up now for our monthly McLews Breakfast Friday, March 10!  

Let us gather for breakfast!  Enjoy a hot breakfast while socializing with other great people. Mmm mmm — French Toast, Kielbasa, Hash Brown Patty, Fruit cup, Pastry, OJ, Coffee/Tea.  We also give out door prizes—which sometimes ends up being pie!  (as seen in photo with Ray and Donna)

Learn basic calligraphy while painting large rocks. All supplies provided including resources inspirational and historical quotes or “words of wisdom”. Bring home your creation. Cost $8 per person

Come learn to wrap a gem, stone or shell. You’ll than be able to turn it into a necklace or bracelet.

Saturdays from 9:00-11:00am

 

An 8-week class for beginning watercolor students or students that have experience who would like to brush up on their skills. Each student will be responsible for their own supplies a list will be provided upon registration.

Open to all ages 16 and up Cost is $60 resident /$70 non-resident for the 8 week session.

Acrylic Painting Class with Kelly Luther Hall

Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30pm

 

Acrylic painting for basic beginners and beyond basic levels will explore methods and techniques for putting together successful acrylic paintings of a variety of subject matter while using some fun unique techniques. No experience is necessary. Age 14+ welcome. Cost is $60 resident/ $70 non resident for the 8 weeks session.
