To make a reservation for lunch, contact the Senior Center office by 12pm the day prior by either calling at 860-739-5859 or stopping by. Suggested donation $3 per person. Lunch is served at 11:45am

Hikers from other towns are welcome to participate.

Medium hikes may have a few hills, rocks or beach sand. The difficult hike is more strenuous; participants must have completed two medium hikes.

All hikes are approximately three to four miles long, and will
begin at 9:30 A.M. *Senior Van – $5.00 fee limited occupancy. Hikers who wish to carpool should meet at East Lyme Senior Center at 9:00 A.M.

Distances, locations and leaders are subject to change,
if necessary.

All hikers must register for each hike by calling the East Lyme
Senior Center – 860-739-5859.

Hikers are to bring water and sturdy shoes; and lunch, insect
repellant and sunscreen if desired

AARP Mature Driver Safety Class

Wednesday, October 5th from 9:15-11:15am

 

The AARP Smart Driver course is the nation’s first refresher course specifically designed for drivers age 50 and older. In many states, drivers may benefit from a discount on their auto insurance premium upon completing the course. Contact your insurance company to find out. And you will learn something new along the way. In fact, an evaluation of the course found that 97% of participants changed at least one driving habit as a result of what they learned.

 

$20 for AARP member $25 for non-AARP member

Cookie Decorating Class

Tuesday, November 1st from 1:00-4:00pm

 

Learn how to decorate cookies with royal icing. With fun fall cookie shapes and icing colors.

Cost is $15 per person, Registration begins Oct 3rd, Register by Oct 21st. Space is limited.

Pumpkin Carving

Friday, October 28th from 9:30-11:30am

Equine Experience at High Hopes

Friday, October 21st from 12:15-2:00pm

 

Meet & Greet with the horses, tour the farm and see all the horses out in their paddocks, do some grooming in the barn (hands-on horse time), and enjoy the beautiful farm.

Cost is $20 Per Person, Registration begins Oct 3rd, Register by Oct 14th. Space is limited.

Fall Prevention Workshop

Wednesday, October 5th from 1:30-3:00pm

 

Nurses from Ledge Light Health District and physical therapists from the Visiting Nurse Association of SECT will put on a program on Falls Prevention. Learn about risk factors, safety interventions, and exercises to reduce the risk of falls at home. Participate in a personal fall risk assessment. Registration is now open.

Hearing Clinic:

w/AUDIOLOGY CONCIERGE – Nancy Jablonski. Thursday, Oct 6th from 11am to 1pm at the Senior Center. 45 minute appointments start at 11am. Free hearing test, a hearing aid check, wax inspection, and listening demos. Register with the Senior Center.

 

VNASC Nurse Managed Foot Clinic:

Thursday, Oct 13th from 12:15pm to 3:45pm. Routine foot care provided for a fee – $10pp. Appointment required. Payment due at time of service. No diabetics please

 

Manicure:

Sponsored by Pretty Nails and Spa. Tue, Oct 11th & 25th. Starts at 8:15am. 15
minute appointments $5pp – Cut, file, shape, and polish. Register with the Senior Center.

 

Massage:

Massages to be offered on Wed, Oct 12th & 26th from 1pm to 4pm. You can reserve a 25 minute appointment for $30 or a 55 minute appointment for $60.
Additional day added Thu, Oct 20, 9am – 12pm. Register with the Senior Center. Payment is due at time of reservation.
