MEDICARE SAVINGS PROGRAM

Are you on Medicare and paying for your Part B premium?
If your monthly incomes is less than $2,786 (gross) as a single or $3,754 (gross) as a couple per month, you could be eligible for the Medicare Savings Program (MSP).

Depending upon your income level, you could be eligible for 3 benefits.
1. The MSP will pay for the Part B premium for Medicare coverage.
2. You would be eligible for the Low Income Subsidy which pays the full monthly premium of a Medicare Part D (prescription coverage) benchmark plan, or a portion of a non-benchmark plan, yearly deductibles and co-insurance, or co-pays. It also allows you to change your Medicare Part D or Medicare Advantage plans outside of the open enrollment period.
3. You may be eligible for the MSP to act as your supplemental health insurance.

Drum Jam- Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00pm

New session started on May 5th and ends July 26th (no class July 5th).
Play a drum. create easy rhythms. Connect with others.
Experience a fun, therapeutic drumming program for all
abilities that energizes you while relieving depression,
stress and tension. Some drums are available for use or
you can bring your own. No experience necessary.
Register with the Senior Center. No fee required.

REFLEXOLOGY- Wednesday, June 15th starting at 1:00pm

The massage will be about 20 minutes which includes a foot soak.
Certified Reflexologist – $5pp upon registration
Appointments start at 1pm

Over the Hill Hiking Group- Fridays

Hikers from other towns are welcome to participate.
Medium hikes may have a few hills, rocks or beach sand.
The difficult hike is more strenuous; participants must have completed two medium hikes.
All hikes are approximately three to four miles long, and will begin at 9:00 A.M.
Hikers who wish to carpool should meet at East Lyme Senior Center at 8:30 A.M.
Distances, locations and leaders are subject to change, if necessary.
All hikers must register for each hike by calling the East Lyme Senior Center – 860-739-5859.
Hikers are to bring water and sturdy shoes; and lunch, insect repellant and sunscreen if desired.

CAREGIVER SUPPORT – 4 PART PROGRAM PRESENTED BY ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION- begins Thursday, June 23rd at 10:00-11:30am for four weeks

Begins Thu, Jun 23rd, 10am – 11:30am, 4 weeks
This four part program is designed to educate caregivers on the necessary skills and information needed to provide care for persons with memory loss. Topics include: Overview of Alzheimer’s Disease & Research, Communication Techniques, Identification of Behavioral Challenges, Family Dynamics, Community Resources, and Legal and Financial issues.
