Marc Deaton is a world-renowned operatic tenor, perhaps most well-known for his Wagnerian roles, performed with companies around the globe. He has currently settled in Madison CT, where, in addition to singing, acting, directing, teaching, and writing, he is Artistic Director of the Madison Lyric Stage, where in June he and Gerald Moshell will be collaborating on a production of Stephen Sondheim’s musical-theater masterpiece, “Sweeney Todd.”

TOM FULLER SINGS A PROGRAM OF BROADWAY AND CLASSICAL SONG

TIME:  12:15 p.m.

Tom Fuller, a recently retired lawyer from Washington DC, has sung many a lead in musicals and operetta, including seven productions conducted by Gerald Moshell. His program will include selections by Leonard Bernstein, Lerner & Loewe, and British classical composers.

Latin Line Dancing- Tuesdays at 10:30am

This class instructs seniors in various line dance routines in both Latin and Ballroom Style.  Latin dances include samba, merengue, rumba, cha cha, salsa, swing and mambo; Ballroom dances includes waltz, foxtrot and tango. From these various dance styles, routines are learned such as Burlesque, Hello Dolly, Singing in the Rain, Puttin’ on the Ritz, Senorita, Sway and many more.  Dance is excellent physical activity for seniors, as well as utilizing the mind in remembering steps/routines and lastly a means of interacting socially with other seniors.

DAY:  Tuesdays

TIME:  10:30 – 11:30am

FEE:  $50/ 10 sessions

Groton Mask Mandate for ALL

For those 55 and older, we offer FREE technology help weekday mornings.  For bigger jobs, we can also schedule you an appointment with one of our amazing technology volunteers.  To schedule, you can call 860-445-1057.

 

Alzheimer’s Support Monthly Group

Our next meeting is Monday, January 10th for our monthly Alzheimer’s Support Group. We meet at 10:00 am virtually.  Please email TStanley@groton-ct.gov to sign up and get the link prior by Thursday, January 6th.
