News From the Thursday Quilting Group

The Thursday Quilting Class not only provides instruction and “show and tell”, but it also has the goal of providing “fabric creations” for local organizations for their practical use.

As the Rose City Senior Center resumed classes this past July, the group decided that its first priority would be to make a “raffle quilt” with the proceeds of which would be for our own Senior Center as a big “Thank You”.  Each class member made a square or two with existing fabric that had been donated over the years by generous senior citizens.  The sashing and borders were completed by classroom instructor Sharon Barry.  The top quilting was completed by Bonnie Doran and her long arm machine.

The pastel colored quilt that was made is on display in the front lobby for the next few months and raffle tickets are available at Reception.  The raffle drawing will be held on April 29th.  Buy a raffle ticket and support this wonderful Senior Center that provides so much for our area seniors.

A Note from Senior Center Member Helen Krasun:

Dear Members of Rose City Senior Center,

Thank you so very much for your cards and prayers on the loss of my son Richard in January.

Your kindness is truly appreciated.   Sincerely, Helen Krasun

Not Feeling Well? Please Stay Home!

If you are not feeling well, we ask that you stay home regardless of your vaccination status.

Think you have a cold?  Throat feeling sore?  Have a new cough?  Just feeling “under the weather”?

Please stay home!  You will be helping other Senior Center members as well as the Senior Center staff stay healthy by keeping out of the Senior Center and staying home until you are feeling better.

By taking some time away from the Senior Center, talking to your physician and resting, you will hopefully improve your health and get better faster while helping to maintain the health of others.

► If you have COVID-19 symptoms or have been exposed to someone who is COVID-19 positive, please get tested for COVID-19 no matter if you are vaccinated or not and please stay home.

Please do your part!  Help keep other Senior Center Members and Staff healthy and safe.
