Beginner Ballroom Dancing
Beginner Ballroom Dancing– Wednesday, May 8th at 10 AM @ First Cong. Church of OL-Join us for
an hour long workshop on the basics of ball room dancing! First Congregational Church’s own Sexton,
Sean McCarty, is bringing his talent and teaching skills to lead this course! Learn the basics of ballroom
dancing, including the box step and basic tips and tricks. The cost for this workshop is free for members, 55 years of age or better!

Shred-It Event
Saturday, May 4th from 9:00am-12:00pm
in the Montville Senior Center Parking Lot

Bring your personal papers, files, documents, etc. and watch as they are safely disposed of on the Shred-It Truck avoiding potential ID Theft.
Don’t be a victim of identity theft or fraud. Here are some basic guidelines from the CT Dept. of Consumer Protection:
• Save all tax-related documents for seven years
• Keep pay stubs and canceled personal checks for one year
• Shred all credit card, debit card and ATM receipts after you’ve checked your statements (unless needed for tax purposes)
• Shred all statements no longer needed that bear your signature, credit card number, phone number, social security number, or medical or legal information.
55 Alive AARP Driving Course
Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 from 12—4 PM
Cost: $20 for AARP Members, $25 for non AARP Members
Please sign up in the front office, or by calling (860)848-0422. You must pay to hold your space, as class size is limited. This is a refresher course, no testing
involved. You do receive a certificate after completing the course which you can send to your auto insurer for a discount on your auto insurance. Call for details and/or come in to sign up.

Our seniors make some very beautiful pieces and the evening promises to be a wonderful event. Artwork, music, light hors d’oeuvres & more! No need to sign up, just come and have some fun!
Healthy Habits

Join Nurse Barbara as she provides helpful information, education, and leads a group discussion on ways to form and maintain Healthy Habits. Group meets on the last Friday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

To enter, drop off your eligible* pieces at the Senior Center on June 13th, 14th, 17th or 18th.
Limit of 3 pieces of artwork per medium accepted.
►Please label your artwork on the back with your name, medium, and title of the piece.

Identifying Theft & Fraud Presentation

As criminals become technologically advanced and increasingly aggressive in their tactics, it is more important than ever for seniors to remain educated and vigilant about identity theft and financial fraud.
In an effort to help prevent seniors from becoming victims, a representative from M&T Bank will offer information, resources and tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of identify theft and fraud.
This presentation will cover information on different types of scams criminals use, how to identify the signs of identity theft and fraud, tips on how to avoid becoming a victim, information you can use to protect your data using safe habits, and what to do if you have been scammed.
