MATURE DRIVER SAFETY CLASS SPONSORED BY AARP – Wednesday, June 5th

Time: 12:30pm to 4:30m

This course reviews and reinforces safe driving skills. No driving test and no written test. Contact your automobile insurance company regarding a potential discount with completion of the course.

Where: East Lyme Public Library

How: Register with the Senior Center in person. Payment is expected at time of registration.

Limited Seating- 20 people

Come and learn how to make a beautiful summer time table centerpiece! The wonderful Leah, from Montville Florists, will once again teach us how to make gorgeous centerpieces. All of the materials are provided—you get to take your piece of art home! Seating is limited—it is first come, first served—sign up sheet is in the front office. If we have enough seniors on a waiting list—we will offer a second class for those that did not make the first one.

Technology Class- Thursdays

Time: 2:45pm – 3:45pm

Not sure how to use all of the features on your cell phone? Not sure how to use that new Tablet or Kindle you have? Come to this free program—we have students from the high school that will come weekly to teach how to use all of these devices! Please sign up if you plan to attend—sign up is on the bulletin Board. This is a free program!

Wednesday, June 19th at 1:00pm for Accordion Player Sam Gavish performing a world of musical odyssey. His repertoire of music is rich with dozens of instrumental sounds from Western and Eastern Europe, South and Central America, Israel
folklore, and traditional Jewish music.

Movie: Green Book.

Tuesday, June 18th at 12:45pm we will be showing the recently released Best Picture Oscar winning movie Green Book. In this movie, “Dr. Don Shirley is a world-class African-American pianist who’s about to embark on a concert tour in the Deep South in 1962. In need of a driver and protection, Shirley recruits Tony Lip, a tough-talking bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx. Despite their differences, the two men soon develop an unexpected bond while confronting racism and danger in an era of segregation.”

Memorial Garden Annual Dedication Ceremony

Wednesday, June 12th at 1:00pm Memorial Garden Annual Dedication Ceremony which will be held outside (weather permitting), inside if not. Refreshments will be served.

The New Horizon’s Band of the Community Music School

Tuesday, June 11th at 1:00pm as The New Horizon’s Band of the Community Music School will perform various marches, show tunes, classics and seasonal music for us. This all Seniors band is a reminder to us, that you are never too old to pick up an instrument.
