Thursday, December 7th- Book Discussion with Author Bernice L. Rocque

The Ponemah Years

Walking in the Footsteps of My Mother

Time: 11:00 a.m.

A journey back to the Ponemah Mill and family life in 20th century Taftville illuminated the “essence” of the author’s French-Canadian mother, Gabrielle Picard, a weaver in the 1940’s.  Part memoir, part history, and part family portrait – this book is rich in photos and family stories.

Author Bernice L. Rocque, a family historian and Norwich native, will be discussing her new book, The Ponemah Years: Walking in the Footsteps of My Mother.  Bernice was at the Rose City Senior in 2012 discussing her first book, Until the Robin Walks on Snow, (about her father’s Janovicz family).

Both books will be available for purchase and signing for those interested.

Please sign up at Reception if you will be attending.

Tuesday, November 21st- Brain Games

Time: 10:00am

Saving the Brain” is the name of the game!

Join Judy Frederick from Three Rivers Healthcare for interactive games to help keep your thought processes active.  Brain games are fun activities, games, puzzles and challenges that jog your mind and make you strategize, plan, and remember information.  Staying mentally active and playing brain games can help improve your memory, improve recall, and may even help to delay the onset of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.   Hope you join us for some fun and “memorable” games!

Light refreshments will be available.  ~  Please Sign up at Reception.
