Get healthy and stay fit!  Go at your own pace—Cardio exercise incorporates cardio movements with light weights, strength training and more for our seniors to continue to live long healthy lives!  Great instructor, fun class, come have a ball!  Best of all—it’s FREE to our seniors!!!

We are continuing and adding evening progams at the Senior Center for our residents 60+.  Please watch for details and call or come into the office, during office hours, to register for programs.

Looking for a convenient place to get rid of your used cartridges? By donating them to the Senior Center, you not only help the environment by recycling, but we then receive monthly rewards we can use for Senor Center supplies. Sound Good? Yeah, Win-Win!

Looking for individuals who are interested in playing Mexican Train Dominos.  The object of the game is for a player to play all the dominoes from his or her hand onto one or more chains, or “trains”, emanating from a central hub or “station”. Beginners welcome!  Day and time to be determined based on interest. Please leave at reception: your name, phone number and day(s) and time(s) you would be available to play.

It is winter and the activity in the greenhouse involves keeping the plants examined (for insects and/or fungi), repotted and watered.  We meet each Monday morning to discuss what to do in the upcoming growing season, to complain about (or enjoy) the cold weather and snow, or to discuss the latest movies, TV series or books. Have you noticed the little girl statue in the center of the annual garden?  Many thanks to Helen Krasun (“the hat lady”) for knitting a hat and scarf to keep her warm.  We have not yet named this statue, but how about “Rosie”? FREE- 6 Week Beginners Country Line Dancing starting on Friday, February 17th at 2:30pm. This class will teach you how to do such dances as the Watermelon Crawl, Tush Push, and others. No experience needed. Non-stick shoes are helpful. Call to sign up. A minimum of 6 people will be needed to run this class

AARP Foundation TAX-AIDE is offered in conjunction with the IRS. Its Tax Counseling for the Elderly program (TCE), provides free tax help to low- to moderate-income tax-payers, with special attention to those 60 and older. Counselors will be available on the following dates to complete your Federal and State Income Tax Returns: February 16th March 2, 16th, 30th and April 13th. To schedule an appointment at the Lymes’ Senior Center in Old Lyme, call the Estuary Senior Center in Old Saybrook at 860-388-1611 and tell them you wish to sign up for the Old Lyme

Bingo will be held on February 15th at 1:00pm. Admission is $1.00 at the door.

Valentine’s Day Social with Jose Paulo will be held on February 14th at 1:00pm. Jose Paulo’s voice will mesmerize you and his personality will charm you. He is very versatile and that permits him to sing all styles of music in English, Portuguese Spanish, Italian, and French. This Rio de Janeiro native started his singing career at the age of 12 and has studied at various certified music schools.
