We have our wonderful Choices Benefits Specialist, Nancy, helping our Montville seniors access the available programs and services from Federal, State, and local programs . This is a wonderful service for our seniors. If you have questions on insurance, assistance, etc. Nancy can help with this Benefits Check Program.

Health & Wellness Program

Monday – Friday Videos

We will continue to providing our Health & Wellness videos for those interested in staying active and healthy from home. The pro-gram is called COOPED UPWITH CAITLIN and videos are provided Monday – Friday and show you how to keep moving safely in your home! Working on different muscle groups, different areas of the body, etc. the videos will show you how to move through-
out the home, using different furniture or household items to hold or hold on to while performing exercises to help keep your muscles and blood moving and flowing!

Medicare Presentation

David MacNiven will be here to give us a Medicare Seminar. Dave has been working in the health insurance industry since 2015 and has assisted hundreds of Medicare beneficiaries. Dave launched Nutmeg Insurance Advisors in 2021 to better serve the changing needs of his clients, their families, and their businesses. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce, he is a member of the Hamden Regional and Midstate Chamber Alliance and on the membership committee for the Nutmeg State Networkers BNI. Veterans Coffeehouse

Wednesday, January 17th at 9:45 AM @ Old Lyme Town Hall (Big Meeting Room)

 

Meets the third Wednesday of the month, this program is sponsored by the Old Lyme VFW and the Lymes’ Senior Center. All Veterans are welcome to join us for fellowship, camaraderie, and of course, breakfast refreshments! This program is free for all veterans in the community. Mark Twain and the Supernatural

Known best today for his frank observations on society, Mark Twain also lived during the spiritualism craze in the United States. Throughout his life he took an interest in the spirit world through attending seances, palm readers, and meeting mediums. The cost to attend is FREE for members, $10 for non=members, 55 years of age or better!

Snow Scene in Acrylic Art Class

3 Classes: January 16th, 23rd, 30th from 1:00-2:30pm

at Rogers Lake Clubhouse; 75 Rogers Lake Trail, Old Lyme

 

Cost: $25 (cash or check made out to Jeanette Green) and supplies (supply list received upon registration)

Acrylics are a beautiful medium to work in. More forgiving than watercolors and
faster drying than oils, they are an ideal tool for producing many different effects.
Learn how to mix and blend colors, keep your colors moist, create textures, glaze,
using palette knives, correcting mistakes and so much more! In this class we will
paint simple winter snow scenes from photos provided. If you have your own photo references, please bring them to class.

Please join us for weekly insights on current tech trends or concerns. A series of 45 minute presentations that will cover the basics of MAC’s, PC’s, Iphones and Android phones as the main topics.

($1 per person suggested donation – pay in Tech Center)

  •  Wed, Jan 17 : Basics of Computers (hardware and architecture)
  • Wed, Jan 24 : Operating Systems (MACS/ Windows) and basic tour of these systems.
  •  Wed, Feb 7 : Basic operating system settings
  • Wed, Feb 14 : Setting up administrative & user accounts and discuss file security for these
  •  Wed, Feb 21 : Operating System security settings and anti-virus software
