Medicare Talks facilitated by John Pitarra

Health and Retirement Services is offering on-site seminars to review 2024 Medicare and Medicaid changes and updates. The goal is to provide clarity which will allow you to understand your options and ensure you make the best
decisions during the annual enrollment period. We can check 2024 prescription drug costs and check if your plan has any network provider changes that impact you. Differences between Original Medicare, Medicare Supplements, Medicare
Advantage plans and Prescription drug plans will be covered. Update you on available state assistance programs and qualifications for all tiers of the Medicare Saving Program. As well as how recent legislation impacts Medicare prescription

Advanced Zentangle Class

Thursday, November 9th from 1:00-4:30pm

 

Cost $40, includes supply kit

The Advanced Zentangle program will focus on use of blue, white, and grey inks along with black, blue and white pencils on grey Zentangle paper; standard sized tiles and zendalas. Come have fun tangling with organic tangles like: dewd, toodles, mythography, foundabout, pokeroot and sprinkle and their variations.

Department of Veterans Affairs Claims Clinic

Thursday, November 9th from 9:00am-12:00pm

 

Appointments:
Veterans may make appointments at our front desk for their one on one
appointments with VA claims officers—all appointments are in half hour
increments. There are limited spots.

Who:
Discharging Servicemembers, Veterans, their families and Survivors

What:
Discharging Servicemembers, Veterans, their families and Survivors will be able
to file disability claims, submit evidence, speak with a claims processor or
healthcare representative and in some cases, have a VA medical exam
completed all in one day. Additionally, representatives from CT Department of
Veterans Affairs will be assisting with applications and benefit questions.

Over 25 Vendors with Hand Crafted Creations

TOMORROW –  SATURDAY, OCT 21st   9-1  is our Club 55 ARTISAN FAIR and BAKE SALE  (formerly the HARVEST Bazaar) with over 25 Vendors with hand crafted creations. Come on in to Thrive 55+  between 9 am and 1 pm to see all the amazing crafters!  And maybe get some yummy treats!  Also, there are two raffles happening one for a Shennecossett Yacht Club Sailing School Package and another for a Beautiful Afghan.

Music Masterworks at Saint Anne’s

Music Masterworks will be held on Sunday, November 19th @ 3 PM @ Saint Anne’s Church.  The Lymes’ Senior Center is co-presenting Music Masterworks with Saint Anne’s Church! Join us as we enjoy a performance by an ensemble called Decoda, an affiliate ensemble of Carnegie Hall. Their engaging creative programs and workshops were so well received and made such an impact on the
community that the Musical Masterworks’ Board of Directors voted unanimously to make this in depth Community Engagement Program a part of MM’s mission. This is a performance you won’t want to miss!

AARP Safe Driving Course

AARP Safe Driving Course– Tuesday, November 14th, 12:45-5 PM @ the Lyme Library– We will be hosting the AARP Safe Driving Course. Cost is $20 for AARP members, and $25 for non AARP members. Checks made payable to AARP are the ONLY FORM OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED.
