Art & Quilt Exhibit- Tuesday, June 7th thru Monday, June 13th

Stop by the Dining Room to see the amazing works of art by our Senior Center Members!

The Tuesday Art Class and Thursday Quilting group will have a combined Art & Quilt Exhibit on display in the Dining Room.  A select number of art pieces and quilts made by current class participants will be shown.  Be sure to stop by and admire their amazing talent!

Veterans Coffee House of Eastern CT- Tuesdays from 8:30-11:00am

All veterans are cordially invited to attend the Veterans Coffee House of
Eastern CT gatherings on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Old
Pachaug Town Hall, 831 Voluntown Road, Griswold. The program offers
information on important benefits; an opportunity to socialize with your peers
and gain knowledge from the variety of speakers and presentations. Veterans of
all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Renters Rebate Program -2022

Renters Rebate Program is underway.  The application filing period is April 1st through October 1st.

To participate in the program, you must have been 65 years of age by the end of the calendar year preceding the filing period; or be 50 years of age or older and the surviving spouse of a renter, who at the time of his/her death, had qualified and was entitled to tax relief at the time of his/her death. Applicants filed under the disability provision must be accompanied by current proof of
disability. The Claimant must have been a resident in Connecticut for a one-year period of time prior to filling an application.

Applicant’s qualifying income in the calendar year 2021 must not exceed $38,100 if unmarried, or $46,400 if married or other. For married couples or other, unless legally separated, income from both husband and wife must be counted in establishing qualifying income, regardless of living arrangements. Qualifying income is considered wages, bonuses, commissions, gratuities and
fees; self-employment net income; gross Social Security benefits, Federal Supplemental Security income, dividends, interest, annuities; IRA distributions, Black Lung payments; Green Thumb payments; interest resulting from gifts received; Lottery winnings; net rental income, pensions, Railroad Retirement; severance pay, Unemployment Compensation, Workers Compensation, Alimony, etc.

The applicant must provide proof of rent and utilities payments during the 2021 calendar year.

Individuals interested in making application for the Renters Rebate of Elderly and Totally Disabled Programs are requested to contact the Preston Senior Affairs Office at 860-887-5581 ext. 6 leaving your name, telephone number and a brief message. The application filing period is April 1st through October 1st.
