Carol went above and beyond to help our center during COVID. Because of her dedication, she has been chosen as our volunteer of the month for November. She helped hand out meals during Community First, directed traffic during food boxes distribution, worked our special events and was always willing to do what was needed for any volunteer task. Carol also has been assisting our VNA nurse during the foot clinics for roughly four years. She is a retired Home Health Aide of 37 years and still enjoys having purpose and as she stated “Doesn’t know how to sit still!” A favorite hobby of Carol’s is doing yard work; she takes her hearing aids out and becomes one with nature. One of her greatest joys is her 8 great grandchildren, four of them were born just this summer. Family traditions also are very important to Carol her family has had the tradition of brunch after church at a relative’s house for the past 80 years! Carol is an asset to the center and we are truly lucky to have her!!

Friday, November 5th from 10:00 to 11:00am- Pop-Up drive-Thru Food Distribution
Our monthly food distribution will continue during November. We plan on
distributing the food on Friday, November 5th between the hours of 10:00 –
11:00 a.m. Unfortunately, some individuals confuse the advertised time of the
distribution and arrive much later in the day for food. We close at 11:00 a.m. If
you arrive at 11:30 or 12:00, the food has been packed up and sent back to
Norwich. We are most appreciative for the continued efforts of United
Community & Family Services extraordinary dedication to this valuable service for
our community. They also have co-sponsors for each distribution which is held.
Many banking institutions such as Charter Oak, Dime Bank, Core Plus Credit Union
are instrumental in making this process happen. Thanks to all!
