Volunteers Needed!

Kitchen Volunteers Needed

We are establishing a list of volunteers to help in the Senior Center Kitchen starting in September on an as-needed basis.  Kitchen volunteer hours are approximately 9:30a.m.-12:30p.m., Monday – Friday.

You will work under the direction of the TVCCA Café Site Server and assist in preparing TVCCA Meals on Wheels food bags along with assisting with the Senior Center lunch.

Assistance includes prepping silverware and trays, helping to plate and serve food, cleaning up, and running the dishwasher.  This position involves standing, bending, lifting, carrying, etc.

This volunteer position is as-needed starting in September, one or more days per week.

Call Hilary with any questions or if you are interested.  (860) 889-5960

Greenhouse Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for new additions to our group of Greenhouse Volunteers.  The Senior Center has an outdoor vegetable garden, outdoor flower garden, and inside greenhouse with lots of plants to care for.

The greenhouse volunteers get together every Monday morning (and more often in the warmer months).  Feel free to stop by the greenhouse around 9:30 a.m. on a Monday to talk with them about the help that is needed.  Open to Senior Center Members only.

Call Hilary with any questions.  (860) 889-5960

July TVCCA Menu

Our July menu includes the following selections:

Monday, July 24th: Country Style Chicken, Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes, Green & Waxed Bens, Fresh Orange, Bread, Margarine and Beverage.

Monday, July 31st: Pub Burger w/Bun, Baked Beans, Mixed Vegetables Medley, Mixed Fruit Cup, Bread, Margarine and Beverage.

As a reminder, if you are interested in participating in the luncheon
program, you do need to call in advance to make a reservation. The meal count is called into the central kitchen one week prior to the day we serve. We only
receive the number of meals that we have reservations for, they do not give extras and therefore we are unable to accommodate walk-ins.

Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. and there is a suggested donation of $3.00 per
person to participate. If you are interested in attending the luncheon, please
remember that you do need to call in advance. Normal days of operation at the
senior center are Monday (860-889-0770) from 9:00 – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday &
Thursday (860-889-0770) 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. or you may leave a message at the
