Artist Nook Shop

Stop by our Thrive 55+ and visit the “Artists Nook”  for some holiday shopping!

We have various local artists selling handmade items to name a few:  gourd bird houses, jewelry, paper flowers , drift wood trees and so much more! The Nook is open Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30-11:00. The holiday sale starts today and ends on November 27th .  Cash only sales.

Artist will rotate new item s in as they sell. Stop by and see us, thank you !

November TVCCA Menu

We are pleased to provide our November menu for the Café Program.
Lunch is served on Monday’s at 11:30 (except for holidays). Reservations are
necessary if you choose to join us for lunch. Call the Senior Center at 860-889-
0770 to make a reservation.

Monday, November 6th: Chicken Marsala, Rice Pilaf, Corn w/Peppers & Onions, Birthday Treat, Grape Juice, Bread, Margarine and Beverage.

Monday, November 13th: Braised Beef Tips, Herb Roasted Potatoes, Soybean
Succotash, Tropical Fruit Cup, Bread, Margarine and Beverage.

Monday, November 20th: Salisbury Steak w/gravy, Egg Noodles, Zucchini, Peas, & Carrots, Fresh Orange, Bread, Margarine and Beverage.

Monday, November 27th: Crispy Cod, Macaroni & Cheese, Squash Mix w/ Carrots & String Beans, Fresh Orange, Bread, Margarine and Beverage.

 

Persons 60 years of age and older are eligible to participate in this program.
The suggested donation is $3.00 per persons. Persons younger than 60 are
welcome to attend but a fee will be charge for their meal.

Deterra Drug Deactivation and Disposal System

Dispose of unwanted medications properly to prevent misuse and to protect the environment.

The Deterra Drug Deactivation and Disposal System is a safe medication disposal pouch that can be used at home.  It is an effective way to destroy unused, unwanted and expired medications with the simple addition of tap water for safe disposal in the trash.

Please ask at Reception if you would like a bag.

 

American Flag Retirement Drop Box

Torn or tattered American Flags can be “retired” in the Flag Retirement Drop Box located on the first floor of Norwich City Hall, 100 BroadwayFlags left in the box will be properly taken out of service.  American Flags should never be thrown in the garbage.

Can’t make it to Norwich City Hall?  Drop off your worn flag at Rose City Senior Center and we will bring it to City Hall for you and place it in the box for proper disposal.

 

Norwich Public Utilities Drop Box

A Norwich Public Utilities Drop Box is located between the front entrance double doors of the Senior Center.  Drop off your NPU bill and payment in the drop box by 11:00 a.m. to be picked up the same day.  Please make sure your bill and payment are in a sealed envelope before you drop it in the box!

Please be aware that the drop box is only accessible during the hours the Senior Center is open.

If you have any questions on your Norwich Public Utilities Bill,

please contact NPU Customer Service (860) 887-2555.

Too cold or wet to exercise outdoors?  Try out our Fitness Room! 

Our Fitness Room has 2 treadmills, 2 recumbent elliptical machines, 1 recumbent bike, 2 upright bikes, a television to keep you entertained and is air conditioned!

Please Note: A signed waiver and physician’s note is needed in order to use the equipment.

► Stop by Reception and pick up the Release and Waiver Form and Physician’s Questionnaire.  Both must be filled out and turned in before using the equipment.  Basic instruction on how to use the equipment will be given before use.  Please ask your doctor if you have specific health related questions.
