We provide the ride. You enjoy the day! This trip is open to all – not just seniors nor just Groton residents. We make 3 drop off stops in NYC to best meet the wants of all. $55 per res./$65 per nonresident. Trip cost includes coach transportation & driver gratuity.
Thursday, April 23rd- Day trip to Harlem
Harlem is so much more than you can imagine! Our unforgettable day will include: Special guided tour of Harlem’s famed Apollo Theatre. The tour is educational, entertaining and inspirational. Hear the story of the theatre and the legendary people who performed here, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, James Brown, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder and so many more. See what it feels like to stand on the stage. Take a peek at the wall back stage full of signatures of all the famous musicians and artists that have performed here. Lunch at Dinosaur Barbeque, a popular Harlem restaurant. Our family style menu will include: Chopped Salad, BBQ Ribs, 1/4 Chicken, 2 Sides, Soft Drinks & Cookies. A guided riding tour highlights the diversity, history and beauty that is in Harlem, from the Harlem Meer in Central Park, the exterior of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, the famous brownstones, the beautiful West side and so much more!! Thursday, March 19- Trip to Elmbrook Village and Infinity Palace Chinese Buffet
Bus leaves at 2:15pm.
This is an educational program to teach you tips on how to avoid being scammed at Elmbrook Village. The presentation is 3:00 to 4:00 pm.
After the presentation a self pay dinner at Infinity Palace Chinese Buffet.

Thu, Apr 2nd – Join us for a trip to the Mohegan Sun Casino. Departure from the East Lyme Senior Center but checks made out to the Lymes’ Senior Center. No meal included but you will receive a casino package. Trip fee is TBD. Registration begins 02/03. Moderate walking.
Thu, Apr 16th – Come join us for a guided tour of Blithewold Mansion in Bristol, RI and experience their Daffodil Days – an explosion of sunny daffodils bursting out of the ground. Lunch at The Lobster Pot in Bristol. Trip fee TBD. Registration begins 02/03. Moderate walking.
Sat, Apr 25th – We’re heading to West Point Academy for their annual U.S. Military Academy Cadet Review. Lunch included at The Thayer Hotel as well as a step-on guide to share their knowledge of the Academy. You need to provide a proper Govt issued photo ID for the trip. Trip fee $130pp. Registration begins 02/03. Lots of walking.
Sat, May 2nd – New York City on your own – Bus leaves East Lyme at 7:45am and leaves NYC at 7pm. Trip is TBD. Registration begins 02/03. No meal included in trip price. Lots of walking.
Thu, May 28th – We’re going to tour of Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC and discover their Catacombs by Candlelight. Lunch on your own at Urbanspace Food Hall. Trip fee is $95pp. Registration begins 02/03. Lots of walking.
Fri, June 19th – Trip to the Newport Flower Show at Rosecliff Mansion in Newport with lunch/shopping on your own at the Wharf. Trip fee is $50pp. Registration begins March 2nd. Moderate walking.
Wed, June 24th – Join us for a lovely Tea Lunch at the Delaney House in Holyoke, MA. Then we’re off to river cruise aboard The Lady Bea for a 75 minute narrated tour as it makes it way up the Connecticut River. Lunch is included. Trip fee is $98pp. Registration begins March 2nd. Moderate walking.
Tuesday, March 10th- Dining Out- Sneeker’s Cafe
Time: 5:00pm
The community gives to the Groton Senior Center; Dining Out is our way of giving back to the community. Each month a restaurant is featured. Ride the GSC bus or meet us there. Order a full entrée or just appetizers. An evening outing, socializing & enjoyment! Please join us Tuesdays for a “socially nutritional” evening.

SENIOR CENTER DAY TRIPS
Open to Non-Residents if there is availability.
Non-residents will be charged a $1.00 surcharge.
When registering for any of the trips listed below, you can sign up yourself and one other person only. Payment is due upon registration. Please stop by the Senior Center office.
Senior Center Day Trips use a bus from the Center for transport to and from the destinations. Number of seats very limited.

Wed, Feb 26th – Join us for a trip to Grasso Tech in Groton to sample the talents of their Culinary Program. Local shopping afterwards. Departure time is 10:30am and estimated return home is 3pm. Trip fee is $5pp. Please bring $9pp in cash to pay the Culinary program restaurant.
