Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams, unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit.  Based on Victor Hugo’s epic novel.

Relentless policeman Javert pursues escaped convict Jean Valjean over decades through the tumult of revolutionary France.  Jean Valjean becomes a wealthy factory owner and mayor of Montreuil-sur-Mer.  Guilt-ridden, he agrees to raise Cosette, the daughter of Fantine, who was wrongly fired from her job at Valjean’s factory and becomes a prostitute to support her daughter.  Years later, Jean Valjean joins the fight for freedom in order to protect Cosette’s love, Marius.
