Groton Senior Center is a division of Groton Town Parks & Recreation Dept. hence most trips are not just for Groton seniors – most are open to the public. 

 

Sunday, April 14th- Trip to USCGA BAND AT LEAMY CONCERT HALL

Departure- 1:15pm

Spring is in the air as LCDR Williamson conducts a concert featuring Ingolf Dahl’s masterful Concerto for Alto Saxophone, performed by soloist MUC Greg Case. These concerts are free and open to the public, we provide you the transportation! This is a 2 pm concert.
We depart GSC at 1:15 pm. via GSC transportation  $5 per resident

Tuesday, May 14th- Trip to ​The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk South Windsor, CT

May Mini-Trip: Mini-trips are open to Rose City Senior Center Members only.

Enjoy a fun day exploring the many stores at Evergreen Walk!
The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk offers an outstanding collection of the most coveted national specialty retailers and restaurants in South Windsor covering over 374,979 square feet and including over 50 stores and 7 restaurants.
Providing a pedestrian friendly environment, Evergreen Walk resembles a traditional New England village with spacious walkways or a “promenade”, a cascading fountain and fire pit with seating in a park-like setting.  Restaurants include Burton’s Grill, Flatbread Co. Pizza, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Sakura Garden, Red Heat Tavern, Ted’s Montana Grill and Panera Bread.
Whether shopping, dining or simply strolling around enjoying the day, The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk is sure to please.  Hope you join us!
Cost: $3 for transportation.  Lunch is on your own.
Bus leave the Senior Center at 9:45 a.m. and returns approx. 3:15 p.m.

This trip will be using the Senior Center bus for transportation.
This trip has mostly walking.

Tuesday August 6th- Trip to Elton John Tribute

Join us as we travel by coach bus to see Elton John Tribute at the Log Cabin, Holyoke, MA.  Enjoy the beautiful view overlook Mt Tom at the elegant Log Cabin Banquet Facility.
Greg Ranson has performed his Elton John Tribute all over the world.  This is an Exclusive One Day Only Show!!!

Package Includes:
Two fresh steamed Lobsters or prime rib at the famous log cabin, baked potato and corn, dessert, coffee or tea.

Thursday, April 11th- Trip to Wright’s Farm Restaurant & Wright’s Dairy Farm & Bakery

Enjoy a delicious, all you can eat, family-style chicken luncheon at Wright’s Farm Restaurant located in Harrisville, RI.  Your meal consists of dinner rolls with butter, fresh green salad with Wright’s Farm Classic Italian dressing, pasta with red sauce, Wright’s amazing French fries and of course Wright’s famous, tender and juicy roast chicken.  Included with your meal will be coffee or tea and ice cream for dessert!
Following lunch, a short ride brings you to Wright’s Dairy Farm & Bakery.  Wright’s Bakery specializes in a number of baked goods, including dessert cakes, cupcakes, cream pastries, flaky pastries, pies, bars, sweet rolls and buns, plenty of assorted cookies and much more!
Bus leaves Senior Center at 10:15am and returns approximately 4:15pm.  Limited seats available.
Cost: $20   No refunds given after April 2nd unless your spot is filled.

Call in Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13th.  Do not call before 5:00pm.

This trip is open to Senior Center Members ONLY.  You may register yourself plus one additional member when you call in to sign up.  You must be an up-to-date member.
